Quickscoping isn't the problem, auto aim is. As long as there is auto aim, players will be able to do just that. In Black Ops it will be worse because if I'm using Hardened pro with my sniper rifle, I wont flinch when you shoot me. As long as you're in my crosshairs and I can scope in and pull the trigger, you're dead. In the article above this one, a player quickscopes and shoots a guy in the stomach and kills him with one shot. As long as you're in his crosshair auto aim...

Here's the problem; everything you just said, is not true. Information floating around the internet has little or no credibility. Using twitter and forum posts and blog sites as the source of information is a bad idea and that's the biggest problem with the gaming media; the sources I just mentioned are the gaming media.

I'm not disputing what you're saying. The biggest selling titles this generation have been multiplatform. PS3 owners place a great emphasis on exclusives but it's hasn't translated to hardware sales or great software totals. My point is and as T9X69 stated, a lot of different factors go into determining a console purchase. To make the assumption that the PS3 should sell better because it has a better lineup of exclusives is silly.

Yeah, ships to major retailers and wholesalers. The disparity comes from shortfalls and shortages and stock clearances and restocking at retailers. One console may project to sell alot and overship leaving many consoles on store shelves or under project and have shortages. The most accurate reporting is the console makers reporting in financial statements at the end of the fiscal year and that figure is the number shipped or cleared from the warehouses.

Keeping in mind also that major mutliplatform releases like Call of Duty, Red Dead Redemption, GTAIV and Fallout 3 etc., outperform the major exclusives on the PS3 console.

They put the responsibility on the console makers to report hardware sales that would then be verified by the NPD. So far, Microsoft and Nintendo have released their numbers, Sony has been the lone holdout.

Vgchartz couldn't give a more accurate number of consoles sold that Sony can. You can't accurately track the number of consoles sold becauase that would require every person who buys one, whether from Walmart, GAME, Gamestop, online retailer or local Mom and Pop, to self report and that doesn't happen. The most accurate figure that can be measured is the console makers reporting consoles shipped.

Okay, people need to stop saying, "the XBox 360 was out a year earlier." It's misleading. The XBox 360's lead in North America is now 3 times greater than it was when the PS3 launched. Since the PS3 has launched the XBox 360 has outsold it be a greater margin than it did before the PS3 launched.

But all 38 million aren't fanboys. Fanboys refer to a small minority of PS3 owners. So what he said was correct. He didn't say PS3 owners are getting mad now did he?

The angst from PS3 fanboys in this thread is funny as hell. Have you all read some of the comments below?! Wow.

Nintendo is reporting that they were the second best selling home console in September so that puts Sony behind Nintendo. All other analytical tracking had Sony in 3rd place including Webbush Morgan and EEDAR. Their numbers almost mirrors the NPD for all other platforms so why would it be differnt for the PS3? Besides, it's a moot point. Sony wont release their numbers and you knew with the NPD only reporting hardware sales to console makers, they would have been the ones to not release t...

Lets look at it from a common sense perspective; Exclusivity has not equated to greater hardware sales. This generation has seen a more evenly split marketshare between Sony and Microsoft with services, functionability and social networking playing a greater role in console purchase. Many of this generations most successful and visible products are available on both consoles and even if a title is exclusive, as the owner of one console or the other, you have great alternatives. Gamers are mak...

The truth is, how much longer do you really think Microsoft is going to invest in this generation. Kinect's release is really next gen focused to test the types of software and applications that can use the peripheral. Microsoft has no ill conceived notions that it will be profitable this gen. So many publishers and developers have huge investments in current gen projects that well into 2012, there'll still be great software but the gen is over. Everyone is looking ahead.

Idiot, did you even read the article? How do you trolls comment on articles you don't read?!!!!

Everything you just listed, is exactly the reasons Microsoft's XBox 360 business has managed to become profitable.

1. First party studios require huge overhead; staff, salaries, benefits, infrastructure. It's smart business to have timed exclusivity for Mass Effect 2, than buy BioWare for 837 million dollars and then maintain that studio and bankroll it's projects; Dragon Age and Mass Effect exclusivity isn't worth that investment. That's not smart busin...

Terminal Velocity and their development of Ghostbusters prove it's not that cut and dry. They built the Ghostbusters engine on the PS3, lead development of the game on the PS3 and in the end, still had difficulty in developing the game on the platform with the XBox 360 version being far superior. It's about knowledge, know how and the willingness to invest in going to the extra mile to make the best of the PS3's architecture.

You're not a fool but the figure does include all of Live activity including the singleplay campaign. I play both games and each tracks the number of people online at any given moment and Halo Reach has had 3, sometimes 4 times as many people online at any given moment than Modern Warfare 2. I was surprised at Major Nelson's figures as well, unless his week runs Sunday to Sunday, giving Modern Warfare 2 a 2 day advantage rather than 1. Regardless, if you go online now, I'm certain...

It's garbage, plain a simple. Another attempt to check a box of feature sets.

Not taking about the whole game. Just the multiplayer.

To the fanboys and trolls who believe everything they read on the internet, Microsoft did not spend 200 million dollars to market Halo 3. The marketing total was closer to 60 million and they had numerous partners who contributed to the marketing and ad costs. Halo Reach's marketing budget is also near the 60 million dollar mark; Again, with numerous partners sharing the bill. Secondly, Halo 3 ODST wasn't a bad game. It's a favorite of mine but had Microsoft released the title as ...
