He can't say that's the priority because they never will. It would be an automatic failure on his part. They don't set public goals only to fail, they set achievable goals so the public can see them succeed. Even if it's a small goal, in the public eye they are succeeding and thus growing their public image and support.

As long as Nintendo keeps releasing thier consoles in between the normal release cycle of Microsoft and Sony, they will continue to flounder.

Got some news for ya...outside the Nintendo circlejerk, ZombiU is a mediocre game at best.
But Nintendo "isn't competing with Sony and Microsoft". I fully expect another underpowered console released between development cycles. Expect little 3rd party support and tons of rehashed 1st party games.
Have you not seen what the consequences of their actions are? How great is the WiiU doing because they "aren't competing with MS and Sony"? Dead last in hardware sales and exclusive software sales.
Everyone discounted Nintendo. Why wouldn't they? Nintendo has been in decline since the release of the N64. The Wii bucked the downward trend, but as we can all see plainly with the WiiU, Nintendo doesn't make consoles that the masses want anymore.
Yeah, that extra few dollars a year power bill would really break the bank!
