Your words are complete truth. I doubt nintendo will make the next graphical beast and their influence this generation and bad enconomy will only promote cheaper consoles. I really would like to think that MS and Sony would keep making consoles with cutting edge tech, but after the wiis success, from a business point of view they will try to emulate nintendo.
Nintendo is rubbing all our hard earned money in our faces every time they make a annoucement. Instead of pleasing the user base more they are laughing all the way to the bank. The wii is a updated gamecube, im pretty sure its production costs have been reduced very significantly to warrant a price cut, but they will not do that as long as sales continue to be as strong as they are.

as much as i would love to say my 360 has been bulletproof in the 2 years i have owned it, i simply cant. i have encountered freezing on my games for about a couple of days then poof fixed again. this has happened 3 times in a 2 year span. it doesnt make me feel any better when i hear terrible stories about MS losing consoles or replacing consoles numerous times.
i have been waiting on this title for quite a while. It looks like the perfect successor to the silent hill series which has gone downhill lately. so many good games coming out it hurts me the economy is so bad i cant play them all.
it makes sense to make the games cheaper seeing as there are no umd manuafacturing costs and your essentially cutting out the middle man. i think sony actually did good on the psp go seeing as it eliminates having to carry umds around. thus it is a truly portable system and the games will be at a much better price point.
