Of course he wants to appeal to more 'casuals'. Thats where the money is. The wider the audience, the more copies that are sold.
As fans of course, we want the game to remain the same in regards to difficulty and whatnot, but the secret code system is good because it need not be used.

Sometimes it definitely sucks. Sometimes you're just trying to complete a section and getting invaded will set you back. Even if you defeat the red player, you've used a resource or something. If the invasion isn't fatal, its still costly.
Right. Like you will find one within first hour of play, and then will not encounter another Parting Shot until you've put in 200 hours.
Its probably going to be an extremely rare item which most everyone will receive early on.

The lack of Tendencies wasn't a deal breaker, and I very much enjoyed both Dark Souls games, but Demons' Souls was just one rung up on the ladder of the greatness.
Playing through that game before it was popular, and before the wiki even existed, was a true throwback gaming experience. That is exactly how most games used to be before the advent of every game being so easy a 5 year old could complete it.

I know I haven't touched my Vita in a while. I enjoyed it for a while, but it got stale. I will again pick it up and use it in the future though.
The Vita did in fact go through a stale period.
I dont like the idea of them, and I no longer go out of my way for them.
I understand why many do though, of course. They're there!
I find them to be a bit fascist in a sense. One way of playing is rewarded while others are ignored.
