It will for very simple reasons.
This isn't rocket science.
It will be the best gaming machine, and the gamer will not be nickel and dimed for what was free in the past.
SONY online is better and free. SONY consoles are built better and the PS4 will be a more powerful machine to develop for.

If the game incorporates touch commands or backpanel inputs then reviews call them gimmicky. If the game incorporates no Vita specific gameplay they write it off as a negative.

I dont like 3D myself. It's kind of cool and novel for a couple hours and then it gets boring. As a human being, I am perfectly content gaming on a 2D screen. Its way unnatural on the eyes to split the vision that way. Anything that hurts your eyes is bad.

If remote play or second screen can add a new aspect to games, then guaranteed there will be a group of players, albeit small, who will automatically want to experience it.
Personally, I think Vita sales will pickup. The Gaikai service of streaming old games on it will be really cool.

I have been looking forward to this game since I heard about it, and assumed it was a current gen title only. The fact that it may be both means nothing to me.
What make these games awesome is the ambiance of lonliness, original multiplayer aspect and difficulty. Sure the next gen could take the visuals to the next level, but the fact that the game may be both, does not in any way mean the PS4 version will be gimped. The game rocks as is anyway.
