There are some indie games but they aren't low quality. Brothers was super well reviewed.
And King of Fighters 98 is a classic.
I'd imagine PS+ subscriptions are healthy but I doubt there are as many Now subscribers. Let's say there's 50 million for PS+ and 5 million for Now. If you can change that into, let's say, 35 million PS+/Now subscribers for 5 bucks more than PS+ costs than you up the number of Now subscribers by 7X.
Sony was never going to get 7 times the current subscriber base to start paying full price for Now. Not without greatly uping the value of the service, which cos...
In so far as marketing matter, yeah, you're probably right. Even if thier plan is as in place as Microsoft's, the fact that MS is out there describing it and Sony is radio silent makes it look like they aren't prepared.
Plus, MS is just doing a great job getting people excited for the Series X. Sony should be getting people just as excited.
@Shikoku
I have played both and MGS is certainly not a remake of the MSX game.
I'm sure this game will be built with current gen consoles as the lead. The new stuff will probably be whatever they are doing on PC on the highest settings. We are a long way from the One and PS4 being after thoughts.
The art direction seems to follow the idea, "what if we had all the WWE wrestlers but, like, they were midgets?"
I don't understand why stories like this even get written. Two generations ago, Nintendo proved that they didn't need 3rd party support the way the other two did. If you discount some percentage of the Wii's sales as an anomaly and discount the opposite from the Wii U, what you're left with is a machine that sells well enough on first party support alone. The fact that there were some 3rd party games brought over this time around didn't change anything.
I've got a PSVR and I LOVE it. That said, I just don't think Microsoft does need this. In fact, I'd suggest that sinking money into a still relatively niche thing like VR is exactly what they DON'T need to do.
MS has spent the generation trying to reclaim the good will of hardcore players they had through the last generation. While that's exactly the group that buys VR, it's a small enough fraction of said group that the investment would be wiser sp...
Both will launch at $499. And there is absolutely no shot that one is more expensive than the other.
I just finished Moss and just STARTED Astro Bot! Really liked Moss a lot. Someone said that Astro Bot is the PSVR's Mario and Moss is it's Zelda. I think that overstates the quality of Moss but it really is a fantastic game.
I could see them making it for PS5, maybe even as a launch game in 2021-2022 for a possible PSVR2.
I get the feeling that the head tracking and finger tracking are gonna make HLA probably something the PSVR (and maybe more specifically the moves) might have a hard time with.
Sooooo....KotOR?
Just to be clear, the one on this list is Bioshock Infinite. The original came out in 07 if you can believe it!
Also, no shade on Infinite, I really loved that game.
More than anything, this shows how first takes on games have aged.
For example, Bioshock Infinite (a game I actually really love) is listed at 15. That puts it ahead of Bloodborne, the Witcher 3 and Inside, just to give you some perspective.
@naruga
If it's MGS1, I I actually would hope Kojima WOULDN'T be involved.
Wait, wait, now hear me out!
The reason we wouldn't have David Hayter doing Snake's voice would ONLY be because Kojima wouldn't want it.
I can easily see a scenario where he retroactively puts Kiefer Sutherland in the roll.
Just happened to play through this on Switch. Not much to it but the art style and presentation alone make it worth a look.
I'd love a remake of Resistance 3. I got it from Christmas years ago but before I could start playing it my PS3 broke:(
No. The audiences are different and, where they do overlap, nobody wants to go without Nintendo exclusives.
The one angle you can take to defend this is where games like Witcher and Doom were ported this gen, the next they probably won't be. But who really cares? Having these games on the Switch was nice but it's not why anyone was buying the machine.
It's hard to blame them. VR may be an exciting technology but it almost seems like a vanity project for the foreseeable future.
There was a report that came out about how something like 1% of Steam users are VR capable. Imagine selling a big new game for a system that only has 1% or gamers using it.
Obviously the hope is that the number grows over time but still, that seems like a big ask.
Ultimately I think Microsoft is smart in w...
Of course I miss it! E3 was always a highlight of every year!
