I don't think they necessarily need to attract new fans yet. Ideally MCC releasing on PC and finally revealing Halo Infinite will get many old fans back, and the buzz will pique the interest for new players. Close to Infinite's release is when they need to attract new fans.

In the trailer the best looking parts are at night time where the contract makes the graphics stand out and the night vision parts which is really easy to pull off since realistically it's supposed to look plain. The daytime parts I don't see the "next gen" leap, the textures don't stand out, and the details are not as deep as something like Battlefield.
Honestly I don't know how many game you've played, although you're right graphics are getting better and better, but this is not the best example. Majority of games out there look much better than this.

I don't think Multiplayer games are inferior per se, but this generic multiplayer ONLY game is definitely inferior looking. Xbox has some of the best multiplayer games like Halo and Gears, but unlike this game they have an identity and significant single player campaigns. If it was something like Halo with story driven SP and a MP component, and a proper art style I would love it. But this just looks disappointing as hell.
