I think it's safe to assume GOTY candidates will be Fallout 4, Metal gear solid 5, Witcher 3, and Bloodborne. Freakin crazy year for gaming.

That reason was maybe for making the Masterchief collection. It doesn't preclude in anyway the possibility of a Reach remake. But they probably won't because of BC now.
Ummm call of duty has had 5 hour campaigns since the dawn of time. Black ops 3 is one definitely longer than previous CODS but if you think halo 5 is 5 hours you must be bending time. It's easily a 7 hour campaign, not to mention it's not a linear interactive movie like COD campaigns.
As far as the story goes, there's no competition really, halo's story is one of the most deep and complex stories out there.

Personally prefer Halo 5 for the value, quality and competitive gameplay, but for people that like COD's gameplay I can see why. It's a great improvement from the last one, finally has co-op!
Yeaa I'm disappointed by that. They need to make maps from the ground up so the aesthetics are unique.
But BTB is just so fuckin awesome, I love the sandbox with vehicles and players, no other game balances it so well.

WHY do people think "best lineup in Xbox history" is this holiday only? They've announce games for all of next year, that put together is what the best Xbox lineup means!
I think probably because they don't want to segregate the community between 1 and 2. They have consistent subscribers and consistent money flow, and expansions can be added seamlessly rather than making people buy a brand new game.

Wouldn't mind that if that's the style they were going for but then there are real people which makes it look inconsistent.

Those are all amazing games, I think they'll probably be nominated for different categories.
Halo 5 is definitely the best shooter this gen but I can't see it as GOTY over those titles. ROTR and Batman I can see in best action/adventures games.
