Sounds like you are super salty that GT isn't getting praise and Forza is. Maybe FH games are great and have gotten praised for a reason, you know consistent 85-90+ rankings and numerous awards and nominations. But it's a sequel within the franchise, it would of course be formulaic. The different is that Assassin's Creed became a yearly release just like COD which allowed very little room for change. In this case it's a racing game, you really can't do much in terms of changing gameplay, racing by its nature is restricted and repetitive just like all sports. What you can do and what they're doing is more content, more expansive, more tuning, more new activities, etc.
And it will be instantly top news on N4G, YouTube, and just about everywhere else. I don't have an opinion on this score yet but regardless of that I have a hard time trusting these big big gaming sites. Some points in the actual review are good though.

Can't ignore the bias there lol, but you'd be surprised at how many Xbox fans don't play halo anymore or have never played it. Half my friends own an xbox and they're too closed minded to give any Halo game a chance.
The whole problem is you WATCHED someone play, watching someone play, vs trying it yourself, vs playing it enough to understand the nuances are all very different things. Halo has always been big on campaign. There's a huge community that only plays Halo for it's campaign, and the majority of players value the campaign and multiplayer equally. I was disappointed since the reveal as well, but the beta did change my mind in many ways, specially with the gameplay which is incredible. Cosmetics were never a staple of halo, always a secondary feature to dabble in, so as far as I'm concerned the battle-pass nonsense shouldn't matter and isn't a part of Halo. My only concern is non-cosmetic content drought due to it being F2P.

I don't think it was a mess by any means. Some basic bugs, nothing game breaking. It was very competitive and spot on, I had such a fun time with it and I was one of the critics over the past year.

I don't understand why people think Destiny 2 is so amazing looking. What makes it stand out is the detail and colours, but graphically it's very very last gen. The lighting is very dull specially in sunny areas. Gears 5 is probably the best looking, the multiplayer looks almost as good as the campaign itself.
