Battlepass and progression are completely cosmetic and don't affect gameplay at all. People need to stop being so superficial and care about skins and colours. If you're that superficial then stay away, if you're like me then you won't even notice or care what's being unlocked. I just hop in with my friends, care about winning and having a competitive match with satisfying kills.
MTX are cosmetic only. If you care that much about cosmetics then you're what is wrong with the industry.
The thing is that the gamepass $1 upgrade deal is the most ridiculous value in gaming history that well never come back once it goes away. I bought 3 years of Xbox live, which I buy yearly anyway, paid $1 for the upgrade and split it all with a friend by sharing the account. Within a year I've saved enough money to cover half the cost of Series X, by next year it'll pay for itself.
It's been confirmed every xbox exclusive will be on gamepass day 1 for years. There are plenty of exclusives that are worth day 1 purchases. I don't need to pay for it because of gamepass but I would 100% pay full price for it, it looks amazing. I'm not sure I understand the sentiment behind your comment, you seem mad about them giving the option to pay full price for quality games, even though they're giving them with gamepass.
What does that even mean. You're not paying $10 for any gun and every gun obviously has a default cosmetic skin and limited number of free skins. You're only paying money to change skins on it, which imo is stupid in the first place.
Can these sites please clarify that all this progression and battle pass nonsense is COSMETIC. Halo has always been about gameplay first and that's solid, progression doesn't really affect gameplay.

Completely agree. To me the issue also the community that spends money on cosmetics in the first place. It's a free to play game that has no pay to win component, skill and teamwork is most important, you don't need a pink spartan to enjoy it.
Destiny 2 became free to play long after it was a fully paid game, they also charge for expansions that are padded with cosmetics and lock playlists. I'm not sure what you mean by "majority of their Microtransactions are cosmetic", EVERYTHING in Halo Infinite is cosmetic, so how is that not better.

You're right about all that. It's standard practice to bastardize paid games like they're F2P now.
I think people are more worried about the main entry being F2P or a significant portion of it. That was an independent F2P battlefield that had no impact on the main entries.
I get the sentiment and in this case your gripe should be with free to play games in general, and pretty much every MP game there is now days. I'm just trying to tell you how you can enjoy the MP without indulging in any of that. You're enjoying the game and not giving the devs any money for MTX. Not a lot of F2P games are purely cosmetic.
