I have a Dawson's Creek Trapper Keeper. :P
Metacritic has it at 82. Is 82 out of 100 "pretty average"? I personally am not a fan of racing games but I enjoyed the hell out of Motorstorm. My only complaint was the long load times.
I bought the first episode of Quore but I am already in the beta. Supposedly I should have the code in my inbox later and I might have another code also because my son pre-ordered and ended up getting a code from his friend. Anyone interested? PM me and the first three or maybe six should get a code.
Off topic, but a genuine moving video.
I don't think the Wii's success is soley based on it's price. The motion controller is big part of it. My sister bought a Wii and she never had anything good to say about video games, ever. Her problem, and I imagine a lot of other people, is that she could never wrap her head around the controller. Face it, four shoulder buttons, four face buttons, a D-pad, and two analog sticks can be quite confusing to someone without gaming experience. That is why I think many people are attracted to the ...
I don't have the time to play all the games I want to buy this year. So I pick out the few I am most interested in, and wait until later to buy the others... often when they are on sale. Games are expensive this gen so I just need to prioritize and have some patience.
I find your post to be quite uninformed.
I had a Daisy air rifle, and it was pretty accurate. ;P
Kai>Nariko. She may have not been the main character, but once I was on Kai's Mission, I didn't want to play as Nariko anymore. I remember shooting one of the baddies in the eye when Kai says: "Bet he didn't see that one coming". I was rofl.
I see what your saying about the building but after closer inspection, it seems that there is smoke blowing across the building, and with the crappy recording, it makes the smoke effect more opaque than it should be. At least that's what it seems like to me.
but when discussing large groups of people, it is necessary to generalize. Casual and hardcore are just generalizations just like "Americans" or "Europeans".
But I don't think the Wii has the legs for being a continued success. Now before you click the disagree button, hear me out. Nintendo has hit pure gold with the Wii. "Soccer moms and Grandparents" has been uttered by many a poster as the reason for the success of the Wii. I know three people that own one and that argument seems to hold water. One of them is a soccer mom and two are grandparents. I think that Nintendo has a brilliant marketing strategy with the constant "shortag...
""Conservative" and "gamer" are oxymorons"
Maybe your perception of conservatives is what leads you to believe this. I am a conservative because I believe in freedom of the individual. Freedom, to me, means the ability to do as I please, as long as it doesn't infringe on someone else's freedoms.
@Mr. Marbles
Republicans have definately strayed from their conservative principles. In fact, I believe the whole political spectrum...
I know a lot of you would like it but from a business standpoint PS3 users already have a lot on their plates. Socom beta, Home beta, Resistance 2 beta, Killzone 2 beta, LBP(?), and maybe more. Hell if every year is like this, I may never buy another game, just play betas.
Excellent post. I usually don't discuss politics here but your post was very eloquent, direct, and precise. I enjoy watching the war-ing console fanboys but political fanboys are ruining this country. Personally, I am tired of voting for the person that I believe will do the least amount of damage. Personally, I voted for Fred Thompson in the primary.
Bubbles up.
Wasn't it Sony who brought the first OLED tv to market?
but I'm sure people will come around. I am a Playstation fan through and through, but that doesn't mean I have to hate the Xbox and Wii. It is nice to have a site that has a unique and positive perspective. Of course, coming to N4G and watching the fanboy banter is one of my "guilty pleasures."
"i dont know if one game would be enough to take an advantage"
You wouldn't think so but look at E3. FFXIII was announced multi and that was enough for most writers to give E3 to MS. I'm sure Sony felt E3 was a slap in the face so hopefully they bring their "A" game. MS and Nintendo could have something big up their sleeves also. If Nintendo just repeats their E3 show, we might see the start of the Wii's popularity start to slide... Nah, who am I kidding.
Nariko is cool but Kratos is a god. (see what I did there?)
Honestly I'd be happy with either but I'm hoping that there is a midnight launch, and if there is, it ain't gonna be at BestBuy.
Oh, by the way Sev. Great site... I like the direction you have taken with it. +bubbles
But unfortunately I didn't receive the email til I was at work. I called home and had my kid punch in the code and download it. It should be ready and waiting when I get home. I'm not like "uber" excited, but I would like to dink around with it and see what it's all about.
I'm officially starting my LBP blackout. I swear I see 20 articles a day about this game and I never get tired of it. There is always something new and different. I will pre-order right away and take a couple of vacation days for this title (hopefully a midnight launch). I've seen enough to convince me. Now I just have to resist the urge to click on LBP articles.
If the PS3 isn't pushing any boundries, how are the other consoles? I know the Wii has motion control but really, the same games (Mario, Zelda, Metroid) with motion controls is pushing boundries? MS might have the right strategy with launching first and using familiar technologies... games are easier to develop and you get to push the limits of the machine sooner rather than later. Sony has their own formula for success and it has worked really well for them the past two generations. You may ...
