The reality is the author was just looking for hits based on the title. There are a lot of Xbox live exclusives released and many of them, including this one, are great for Xbox live arcade downloadable games. Those of you comparing this to retail releases are silly.
It would not matter to me. I never used my PS3 for blue-ray play back until I bought a Panasonic 3D Plasma. After a week of using the PS3 for 3D movies we purchased a stand alone Panasonic 3D Blue Ray Player. What a difference! The blue ray and 3D play back is so much better than what my PS3 is capable of. Whether it be PS4, Xbox next, or WiiU, I really have no interest in them offering Blue ray movie playback. Streaming movies is a much better feature anyway.
Apple can stay out of the video game business, I am perfectly happy with the current offerings.
I plan on buying all next gen systems eventually. I will start with the next Xbox, then the WiiU, and then the PS4. Hope they will all be full of great games like they were this past gen.
Hope they make Alan Wake 2! The first one is one of my favorites this generation. I am anticipating good news from Remedy!
I'm not sure if you have really touched Windows 8. The fact that you say it is unpractical as desktop is absurd. When I am using Windows 8 at work (have been using the retail release for several weeks now) I simply stay in the desk top app. Compatibility is a non-issue. How could Windows 8 be bad for gaming when it works with current and future games? When you install a game meant for the traditional desktop it will open in the traditional environment. I have been using Windows 8 since the developer preview and it is simply the best OS they have ever developed.
I enjoy reading comments sometimes. People are twisting the fact Sony is now moving toward a Kinect like experience. Instead of admitting the move to this type of experience was influence by Kinect (the device they love to hate), they claim it is a refinement of the Eye. The technology used in Kinect is nothing like the technology used in the Eye. But to develop technology which works much like connect makes it in fact Kinect like technology not a refinement of the eye.

I plan on buying a WiiU because I like Mario and Zelda, but this is probably the first Nintendo console I am not excited about. I'm not even sure if I will buy it day one. I may wait until I can pick one up used or on the cheap. I haven't read anything about pricing, but I will not pay more than 199 for a console with old tech again and I am not even sure if I am willing to pay that. Guess it depends on the games....
Alan wake was one of my favorite games this gen. Most people I recommended it to either never heard of it or knew very little about it. After playing Alan Wake all of them are hoping for a sequel as well. Hope Remedy can make it as good or even better than the first!

My wife and I just purchased this game because the pop tart cat is so strange. The game is actually fun though.
His switch to PS3 was caused by his falling out with Microsoft by the way. The man goes where he gets what he wants although I can't say I blame him for that.
I really do not care what Gabe says. I've been using Windows 8 since the Dev Preview and think it is the best, most stable, most productive OS Microsoft has ever made. Does anyone remember Gabe had a falling out with Microsoft? Makes since to me why he would make such claims..

Although it really wouldn't affect me because I have all of the systems, I wouldn't want so many people to miss such a fun franchise.
