Yea they did a poor job of explaining what the ps3vpc features were. If you have never seen anything about EVE ever the trailer really didn't mean anything, but I think they tried to show off how the ground battles with DUST (which have not existed in eve) would effect a battle in space by EVE players.
The problem was that it was just too cinematic for people to make any correlation besides "whoa space stuff, shooter, story, meh"

Same here. I remember playing it after snowboarding in the lodge at cheapskate mountain, and being like "teh funk r all deez characters about" "teh funk, NO NOT THE SPIKEESS BLEOUGGGHHH"
I did play 1 and 2 but they were only really shock value for me at the time. UMK3 made me actually want to play it.
...and release it in November despite being just a few development months away from being finished and one of the best games ever.

back to Infamous, though, it reminds me of Max Payne oddly enough. Incredible action blended with an environment that MAKES SENSE and feels real. The TV segments, atmosphere, sound, lighting, etc.
