I’ll miss the midnight launch parties. Standing in line with strangers sharing our excitement about a video game. Digital took that from us. I wish younger audiences could experience how joyful it was
Kojima bought the IP? Link?
There was a GameCube version as well if I remember correctly. News to the post gen 6 gamer
Yea that’s kind of my point. There probably isn’t a lot of PS players that are waiting to play Halo, let alone pay for it. If PlayStation and Nintendo are their primary gaming experience, they probably don’t care about Halo
Not sure how much PS players would be interested in Halo. It’s the reason to play on Xbox and most don't anymore. It is/was the reason to own Xbox and they aren’t selling consoles… I’ll be optimistic that those who moved to PlayStation from Xbox would try Halo again but if one wanted this game they’d already be playing it on Xbox for years
The best opportunity was with BC2 and BF3. BF4 dropped the ball with a short campaign and bugged multiplayer at launch
Awfully cringy a Pro is ‘needed’ to ray trace gameplay a cross gen game. Wish Polyphony developed it as a PS5 exclusive but I understand why it was cross gen
It doesn’t remind me of the Indy games on PS2, nor the cancelled Indy game from 2008, or Tomb Raider, or Uncharted. It looks like Wolfenstein a little too much with the mockery and jokes in the cinematic. That can be a great or not so great thing for the IP
Probably redistribute some employees to other studios and then close the studio for tax purposes
I got that trophy the second or third week after release. That 1% was a tall order
You must be young
The smaller titles the past 10 years didn’t sell well enough though. It would probably be different if they did
Concrete Genie
MidEvil
Tearaway Unfolded
Knack
Gravity Rush
Hot Shot/Everybodys Golf
Littlebigplanet
If those titles sold some of the small studios would still be open today
I bought one for $42 sealed from eBay after I saw the news of its closure and pulled from physical storefronts. Figured most unsold copies will be destroyed, and with so few sales a sealed copy could become scarce to come by. At best it becomes as valuable as the original fortnight. At worst I sell it for what I paid after a few years
Before they were acquired by Sony they received 200m from an investor/group. I’m guessing they wanted their money back and that’s how Sony acquired them. 200m is a number, but anyone’s guess at the actual development cost and purchase of the studio and IP
Probably his email address inventory from the $1 Gamepass loophole. I hope it saved him for a $2k PC. He seems quite excited for it anyway. Maybe he’s less interested in the new Xbox console this week
Looking through those glass cases at Funcoland with your GameBoy to try each one was childhood bliss
The PS5 slim physical model has detachable drive you can put on a pro, which would turn your PS5 slim physical into the digital model. You could also buy a PS5 digital, add on the disc drive to make it the physical model slim, then move that disc drive to a pro if one wanted. Not really the same as losing a Wii U game pad but more similar to attaching/detaching HDDs from console to console on the original 360
Oh man, the train scene and the rest of the game after. Great game following years after the events of 1 and 2
I sometimes play kz2 online to this day on the revived servers
You can still play kz2 online if you change the dns setting on your ps3
