I agree the 7th generation of consoles was quite memorable. It sounds like you’re trying to justify the price hike. I can agree there too, as things are more expensive for everyone, both producers and consumers.
I also think the price hike is a bit greedy. There’s no reason Sony needs to raise the console price. The PlayStation brand wouldn't go out of business without a $50 price hike
@TheColbertinatir
Insightful
Yes, just like when Insomniac said they weren’t making any more Resistance games and moved on to Fuse and Sunset Overdrive.
Orchard, how is India an insignificant country? It has over 4x the population of the United States and is right behind China as the most populated country in the world. India is a developed country with modern cities to sell consoles in
@ AmUnRa no need to curse over a well recycled topic my dude. I buy all my games too, which is about one game at full price a year and 2-3 other AAA games during a sale
I also love the author kicks off the subtitle actually knowing what an exclusive is.
The PC strategy is sure working out for PlayStation. I do wonder (as a non-pc gamer), if PC gamers are so quick to purchase PlayStation studio games, why didn’t they have a PlayStation to play it on when it first released?
@Obscure, dude you are really stretching things. You’re trying to imply the previously released PC version of Death Stranding added to a PC subscription service, and The Show being multi platform as an indication PS will release more of their games on gamepass? To be honest, I hope you are right. Almost all PS ‘exclusives’ are of such a high quality I wish we all could enjoy them. I hate to tell you though, the same reasons you won’t see Sunset Overdrive (Microsoft published) on PlayStation i...
Are people mad that it’s $70, or mad that one of the greatest games is being remade for PS5 and PC?
ND had approximately 300 employees when Part 2 released two years ago. They’ve since doubled to over 600. ND said the game was remade because some employees had nothing to work on. Did it really tickle your bum that instead of being laid off, those 300 extra employees got familiarize with a PS5 game? Does it bother you that no one is being forced to buy that product, let alo...
I counted 7
@ Darknoss, I did a basic google search. Sony is headquartered in Japan. The PlayStation gaming devision of Sony ( aka PlayStation) is headquartered in the USA. Sony as a company, is still a Japanese based company founded in Japan after WW2
Did you mean PlayStation is also trying to get rid of its Japanese identity? Because that would make more sense. Sony is a Japanese company, and I haven’t seen anything about Sony trying to get rid of it’s Japanese identity, unless I missed something.
It also wouldn’t be PlayStation purchasing Square Enix. It would be PlayStations Japanese parent company, Sony.
I can’t think of another company on the publisher purchasing spree that would preserve the Japa...
@Aloy, HardKnock has a point. You make a lot of Sony fanboy comments my dude. No need to be defensive or prop one console up and talk doom upon another.
Edit: I was biting my tongue originally, and I see someone found you below.
Same studio that made Dead Nation and Returnal as well. They also made Outland which was published by Ubisoft
It’s not a bad game at all and it’s free to play for the week. You should give it a try
I’d think it would be quite complex for a publisher to sell itself simultaneously to two buyers (Embracer and Sony), which is why an announcement would take so long
You can’t see him because his time is now
Ryuk, there is Demons Souls by Bluepoint Studios and Japan Studios, though Bluepoint Games became a first party studio after Demons Souls launch.
There is Returnal, which was developed by Housemark, which also became a first party studio after Returnals launch.
So yes, technically there hasn’t been a first party PS5 exclusive since launch as the games I listed were developed by a second party developer.
Star Ocean, Final Fantasy, and Kingdom Hearts aren’t exactly small names, and Sony used to own 10% of SE until the mid-late 2000’s. I don’t think Sony would benefit off of more western studios as you’ve listed
Wipeout HD on PS3, a remake of the PS1 game was 1080p 60fps. And that released in 2007-08
Seems like a game designed to attract new players to a 20yr old franchise, yet attempting to attract the original fans from when nfs was a must play. I’ll wait for the reveal, since it’s a 3 second leak. The leak reminds me of Skate 3 challenges, but with a car in it. Not sure if that’s a pro or a con, but it’s a leak of a game in development. Can’t make an opinion until the reveal
