Heavy Rain is definitely the PS3 game of the year. Glad it didn't go to GOW3 or RDR.
Just tell me when they come out and I'll buy all four.
He just dumbed down every villain to the shallow basics. When you do that to anything, everything will seem pretty bad and retarded.
Way too much nitpicking here. WAY TOO MUCH. Half of this lists' villains represent some of the best villains in video games.
And Yoichi Wada.
Do something REALLY original here. I'm tired of all the shooters that look exactly the same. Make a FPS horror hybrid, or a fantasy FPS, or something WAY in the future. Hell, make it in the past and justify that people made a time machine and wanted to start a war deep in the past to alter the course of history. I'd play that shooter.
I understand my comments sound convoluted. Let me explain.
God Of War 1 was excellent. I loved the story and the direction.
God Of War 2 was just more of the same, but still mildly enjoyable.
I expected more from God Of War 3, not because I expected something more in hack and slash, but because the only thing they changed was the set pieces and the graphics. A series can't run on just graphical and set piece improvements. It's still t...
As long as Dragon Age 2 isn't painfully boring to play, count me in.
And in my opinion, Heavy Rain should at LEAST be PS3 Game of the Year. Mass Effect 2 will win overall Game of the Year. Not sure why, demo wasn't too impressive on PS3 (gameplay wise). I don't see what all the fuss is about.
@Bilbobob
Just wasn't what I was expecting from it. I'm not one to like hack-and-slash games anyway. Don't get me wrong, the game is very good, I just expected more from it. And it was really short. I'm more of an RPG guy, and platformer and shooter, and indie niche games.
Completely agree. After Cronos, the game was all downhill from there. First half wasn't even that amazing to me. One of my most disappointing games of 2010. Before you bash me, this is my opinion and I have different tastes than most of you. I loved the first God Of War as well. GOW2 and GOW3, not so much.
If this is true, it will inevitably take place mainly on Gran Pulse, which will automatically make for tons of non-linear parts. I really hope this happens because they can deliver on what fans are begging for most, and that is lack of linearity. This sounds like it would be a mash-up of FFVII and FFX. Hey, no complaints here.
Well hell, I'm picking this up! Merry Christmas! Glad I didn't buy it yesterday at Gamestop like I almost did!
Amazon > Gamestop
I loved FFXIII. My game of the year, but to each their own.
Sure, it doesn't match previous installments, but nothing this year came much closer for me.
Yes, except FFXIII. My game of the year. I loved the hell out of that game. Sue me.
Agree completely about Red Dead Redemption being overrated and disappointing. The first half of the game is excellent, but I couldn't even bring myself to play it after that. One of the worst games I've played this year, easily.
This year was touted as a great year, but every game I played disappointed me to some point except Mass Effect 2 and Final Fantasy XIII. That's just my opinion, though.
Am I the only one that thinks this will be one of the better games released on PS3? First time playing it Tuesday and I LOVED the demo. I played through it twice. And I don't know about you, but I loved the graphics. I don't pay that much attention to them anyway, and I certainly don't let them defer me from having a pleasant gaming experience. Most of us grew up in the old-school gaming days. If the gameplay is good, all else can be forgotten.
I was superbly impressed. Picking this up on midnight launch.
Anybody else think that LBP2 sucks or am I just way in the minority here?
Screenshits hahahahahaha
