back in the day when there was no such thing as DLC? then along came microtransations now everyone wants a piece of the pie. i miss having the complete game from day one. DLC that extends the life of a game is great, but stuff that should already be on disc (ahem, resident evil 5, assassin's creed II, street fighter VI, etc.) from the get go sucks goat balls.
that being said, i do enjoy having my games "live" so they can be updated and fixed when bugs are found. don...
we're all just beta testers. they'll get it right when they release the GOTY edition. >:-/

looking back, i didn't buy a single game for the 360 this year. that's really surprising. they do need more interesting exclusives... and they need to branch out with some new IPs... the only new IP i see coming out next year is alan wake, and everything else is a sequel. i think they're just a little too comfortable with their franchises kinda like nintendo.

ffxiii was never meant to be on the 360. development on the ps3 was well underway before they even announced a 360 version. it's shoddy because of it's dvd9 limitations... more discs, compressed cut scenes and audio, etc. we won't be able to tell what else until we get both versions in hand. we definitely won't know what was cut as a compromise for the 360 though. i was hoping for a japanese language track but that doesn't look likely.
lots of coverage for bayonetta today. i'm definately going to rent this game (not going to buy a shoddy port... hell i'll probably rent the superior xbox version for that matter). thing is, once kratos arrives in march, we won't be hearing much about her after that.

don't blame platinum games for the poor port. blame sega.
was built from the ground up for the xbox 360. it has nothing to do with the "ps3 being hard to develop for". ask naughty dog, rocksteady, insomniac, sucker punch, hell, even ask infinity ward if you are so intent on using that excuse. regardless of that, the port isn't THAT bad (i played the demo, not my style of game though). the average joe doesn't care about pixels count or frame rates, they care about games for their console of choice.
why you gotta take it there man... the wait sure has been quite tantric though... it's gonna be one hell of an explosion!!
that's a lot of games man... i think you should ration out your gaming purchases else you will have to start eating dvds and bluray because you won't have money for food.

bah hah hah, you think it's funny but i've had final fantasy xiii preordered since 2007. plus, there are chances that the price could drop and if you have it preordered, the price drops with it. if it goes up, you still keep the lowest price. gotta love amazon!

considering the lame list of releases for 2009, greenburg isn't shooting that high when he says 2010 will be better. he's got mass effect 2 and halo reach in his arsenal, and possibly alan wake and splinter cell... all games i will be getting. oh, of course they have that natal thing too. they will have a BETTER year than 2009, but don't think sony is going to sit idle.
keep dreaming roper. if it happens, i'll eat my words. if anything, the xbox 360 sales of final fantasy xiii will solidify that they should have kept it ps3 exclusive. no way versus is going to go the way of the big green red ring machine.
seriously.... i remember having to read my latest gaming news through nintendo power and how excited i was when i learned about the super famicom. back then it was a magical experience. now it's like kids get an xbox for christmas and by next they want the nexbox because the games aren't graphicky enough. spoiled brats!
