The most important thing is Sony deserve a chance to make money next gen. Playstation 3 just cost too much to develop, many mistakes were made. But from a consumers point of view PS3 delivered the most value with BluRay, Wi-Fi ect, but most importantly they had the games - the Multi Plats and titles unique to Playstation that consistently won the big gongs.
They have done extremely well against all of the negativity, and made good changes for PS4.

If the rumoured specs are correct, very likely, then Nextbox will do well IMO. Just as I prefere Sony, then many prefere XBox. I just hope Microsoft scrap the shit ideas so as not to alienate people. One reason that I bought a PS3 at launch was that I was a PS2 only console owner. Games such as this and Ico I felt would only be available with Playstation. Could enjoying titles such these be the difference between PS'ers and XBoxers?

The PS3 was undoubtably the best multi-media device for the home, the architecture with Cell B E being exceptionally good at BluRay decoding ect. Of course stand alone players weren't game consoles and so didn't need noise producing fans to operate, but who would hold that against PS3 when picture quality for BluRay and DVD was so good?

Infamous is one Sony exclusive that I didn't like. It felt like....' a game', it failed to captivate me as a decent game should. I just couldn't get into its world and to enjoy the experience.

I am a Playstation fan boy because Sony hardware delivers the games that I want, but I look forwards to next gen gamers of both machines enjoying amazing games. There seems to be some negative appraisal of PS4 and Nextbox hardware but I look at where we console gzmers are coming from, next gen will be great. From half a gig of ram and processing measured in low G/flops, to 8GB Ram and performance measured in Teraflops. That is a true generational leap in performance.
And, as the most capable machine of its generation, the PS3 is still to release top gaming titles to ensure it keeps selling.

I will miss Ken 'Father of Playstation' Kutaragi, I will miss the Cell B E, and I will miss the XMB. But, realistically, all which is replacing these is looking better suited to the future.

'CPUs don't use GDDR5'. Well GPU's do and the Playstation 4 architecture has most of the consoles performance coming from the GPU.
