The issue here is that it shows subscription services for what they are, a gate fee. If you like PS+ or XBL for the rental games they give you "as long as you keep paying" then that's fair enough. But multiplayer shouldn't be behind a fee.
If people truly want cross multiplayer then the gate fee has to go, plain and simple. I don't see many in the gaming press making that case. So it will never happen.
Konami + Microtransactions + Requires constant internet connection. I think I've already made my mind up on this game. No contrarian opinion piece from Polygon is going to change that.
You'll no doubt get some of the reviewers being contrarians just because they feel like they have been told to hate the game by the greater public and as a result they will gleefully disregard the always online requirement and microtransactions. Which will be followed by them giving it a positive review.

The only reason to get it is if you like 720p 30fps and the original engine not the new DS3 one. There will be blight town slowdown I'm sure. I think 60fps is the only way to play a souls game today. Reaction time is everything.
It is not enough to just say everything is portable and it gets a free pass.

G-Sync makes complete sense on consumer televisions. "face of sarcasm" HDMI is already coming with a display sync technology this year. So G-Sync is already dead. Buying NVIDIA proprietary tech is a fools errand.
You mean Silver Edition, the Chris Redfield DLC that people wanted on disc is a code.
Having played the beta I'd say It is a step in the right direction however it's still overkill on the menu interfacing. double or triple functions on various buttons to then get into little sub menu's all while in live action. They definitely need a user interface expert. I can see new comers being put off by this and not the actual game itself.
At least it isn't the Digital Foundry Microsoft paid shills.

Still no PS4 Pro patch. The 30fps implementation of this game is awful.
Also the idea that they are selling DLC for a game that no one is playing is rather absurd.
Collection? it is missing Revelations 1 on the game card and my Switch storage has run out.

Why did Activision get a pass for "DISC LOCKING" a whole game. e.g when you can no longer down their patch the single player can't be accessed anymore.
If they want to trump Microsoft at backwards compatibility do it at a system level like they did on the previous consoles. Not using the disc as a key to download a digital version like Microsoft, That kind of service is no good when the service is no longer being offered.
Sure I'll play it. Just make it free like the other half of game.
