It looks like Sony have had no choice but to open the flood gates on VR quality control due to the lack of AAA content being made for the headset. I'm on the verge of selling mine on eBay.
How do people who don't own a PSVR headset feel about subsidizing a game for a small subset of players. Grant non VR owners can play this but what happens when it is a VR only title that would seem to set a bad precedent. I also recall many people not being happy at subsidizing Vita games too.
Bad site but motion sickness is a real problem in VR and it doesn't seem to have a solution. Which is going to effect the adoption of the technology.
To be fair Rez Infinite and Thumper are not VR titles. They are regular games with an added VR mode. So they were already good games without VR. Which is a bit telling when the two highest rated PSVR games are not full VR made games.
He was MIA because Nintendo corporate did not want him interviewed by Geoff Keighley or any other journalists to the tune of "Why are Wii U Sales so bad" and he would have no way to spin it. Nintendo want to control the message.
I think the core problems will be with how well 3rd party developers get on with this device.
1. If the Switch doesn't have enough power developers are not going to spend time optimising engine code for a small initial user base. A device that has less horse power than an original Xbox One in a world with PS4 Pro and Scorpio probably doesn't seem that appealing to developers.
2. Nintendo doesn't seem to have made a device that can accept massive patches...
The online hacking invasions are not just as fun as they were in the first Watch Dogs. I think that is in part due to the design of the city. Not as many places to hide or interesting things to interact with.
Have you tried the demo? it is still making people sick after 30min. That is with the pie chart turning enabled. The visual texture downgrade is not that great either. Having played it in both modes I would recommend playing it on a 4K HDR screen instead.
It isn't good when you put in your game and find out you have to download 25gb+
Pretty much the same story for most VR games. Restricted gameplay or just less gameplay. But none of that matters because immersion right? immersion trumps gameplay and is the future and you never get bored with it. Kappa
I thought Insomniac decided to not support Oculus after the Palmer Lucky fiasco? On another note what is it about Insomniac and their platform decisions. They support PS3 when 360 was ahead then supported Xbox One while PS4 was steaming ahead and now they are supporting Oculus which is back of the pack in VR sales. It seems like they don't want to make money.
Well the "VR Believers" will tell you that you get over it which is simply not true. I've had PSVR for over a month and games that make me sick still make me sick. I'm not interested in chewing on ginger or putting a strap around my wrist or blowing a fan in my face either.
Pretty much hit the nail on the head. However I'd be very concerned about having a lot of battery power wrapped around my head in 2016. The more dense and compact they make lithium ion batteries the more unreliable they are starting to become.
I for one don't really want an explosion on my head if you catch my drift.
Can't unsee Star Trek alien bridge nose
From the playthrough I saw it just seems like "lots" of tech demos stitched together. e.g. Pick up this insert it into that etc.
They need to do better than this.
£350 PS4 Pro, £350 PSVR, £30 Camera, £100 New Gun Controller £50 Farpoint. = £880/$1100
The gun has been listed at that price at retailers.
I will be very surprised if a lot of people play this game with that kind of financial investment. This is starting to remind me of what happened to SEGA in the 90's but at a much more accelerated rate of expensive add-on's.
I expect the VR Believers to vote thi...
Unless there is a demo, I'm out as I experience motion sickness on FPS VR games.
If they don't get this motion sickness problem sorted I don't see the future of PSVR being very bright.
It is also not enough to be one of those people that say "I don't get sick" it is enough people that get sick to effect the adoption of this technology.
Only if it is on disc.
No longer comfortable putting a high energy lithium ion battery in front of my eyes.
Buy Yakuza 0 instead.
