Microsoft has not been pumping out many 1st party exclusives. Gears is not a first party game, it's third party. To answer the question, it's money! Microsoft just markets the hell out of their games.
Also people are more harsh/critical of Playstation and Playstation games because it has been on top for two gens and brought some of the best games in gaming history. People just expect PS3 to unrealistically top both the PS1 and PS2's lifetime of games right off the bat.
Lol. I guess you forgot about Driver and Driver 2.
Even if it only sold 10k or less, it still sold better than the other games, so what is so great about the sells of those other games? If you're going to harp on KZ2 having low sells, you should just know that the other games got lower sells. ;)
If you have to reach down to reach the right stick, what the hell makes it so hard to reach down for the left stick? I just don't see how anyone can say the DS3 sucks for shooters, I can't see them preferring the 360 controller because they're used to it, but that's it.
I do know that if this keeps happening with other multiplatform games then the 360 fanboys will once again change their arguments. I mean when it was PS2 it was a whole different set of arguments(like PS2 only sells more because it came out a year earlier) that would actually hurt their cause now.
PS2 sells. That's how you know they are way off. PS2 hit 140 million awhile ago and they say only 120 million. Wow... They've been off by hundreds of thousands before, so I don't see why anyone is questioning this data, it should be known fact that it is just made up garbage. Wait for NPD if you really care.
Killzone 2 #1 for two weeks and still in the top 10. Not bad. Is anyone going to make a fuss when RE5 will not be #1 in three weeks? No.
Yeah... Maybe some unfortunate Final Fantasy fans will get the 360 version because they can't afford a PS3, but no Final Fantasy fan in their right mind would buy the 360 version or even a 360 for the game when they'd be missing out on Versus.
I'm sorry, but I hated underground and every game after that was just meh. Hot Pursuit 2 was its pinnacle, and then it went to crap, imo.
Start working hard on getting SO4 on the PS3. It flopped in Japan, Europe, and America. Just put it on PS3 and it's guaranteed to at least do well in Japan!! It's sad to see that they make such poor business choices.
That this random decision to start charging is to offset losses on a price drop? I don't want to add to the rumors, nor do I believe the rumors, but it could make sense... Just saying.
There is no way to prove that it would have sold better on PS3, but I believe the demographics are different between 360/PS3 and that's why I think JRPGs would do better on PS3.
Is made of win!
Awesome!
Kind of laugh at the idea of a $99 360? I mean it would be a great price, but it kind of cheapens the value of it. I haven't seen a console yet that has been $99 after under four years.
Kind of makes it seem like a cheap $5 headphone that will break in a few months compared to a quality $60 headphone that has superior sound and will last for years...
It didn't move consoles? February is higher than January. I just love it how people compare this to established franchises pointing out how they've done better in two days.
Everyone was calling LBP a failure and a flop because it didn't sell huge on the first week. Oh, but apparently the game has legs because it sits at over 600+k in the US and continues to sell.
Since when did first week sells determine the success of a game? It's like people don't have patience ...
Whatever happened to "Year of the multiplatform"? Seems whenever a PS3 game comes and goes to 360 they're always touting this sentiment and then they magically forget about it when it comes to exclusives for 360(LP2) and Wii(Monster Hunter 3).
Capcom is crap in my eyes. I hate companies that backpedal and have no credibility in their word. I mean man up and stick to your word or if you have no intentions of doing what you say, just DON'T SAY IT. Seriously...
An announcement for Twisted Metal. Either here or E3, GIVE ME TWISTED METAL!!!!
Surprise @ Resistance Retribution. A game like that, I would not think be popular there... Or at least make it into the top 10. Good for Sony. :)
Sold, shipped, who cares? They all go by shipped, therefore no console company has an unfair advantage when reporting how many have shipped.
