They didn't mind b/c when the PS1 was out so I wonder why they care if the PS2 is out. They'd also get more PS2 software sells from PS3 owners, but I guess they didn't think about that.

All media is horrible they always skew things and it doesn't matter what the subject is. I'm just trying to figure out if they just say what a majority of people think, or if what they say influences what people think.
They had to use Spiderman Font for the PS3 at first. If they used the PS2 font for PS3 people would say, "Why pay $600 for a console that is just the same old same old with nicer graphics?" They did the new font to differentiate themselves from the past, so it wouldn't look like the same old same old. That's why they also had the "Welcome Chang3" ads.
Completely incorrect. They have to sell a certain amount before it qualifies for GH/Platinum. Otherwise they lower price without Platinum like they did for Sonic the Hedgehog and other 3rd party games.
At that price anyone who is sitting on the fence is slim to none, unless they just don't want to spend money on a gimped piece and can't afford $100 more. I think the Arcade is the worst console on the market and the worst for the price. The Pro/New Elite is good though.

*Edit* This is VGChartz, they have no official data until NPD announces it. Right now they don't even state where they're getting their numbers from and since the only thing they can go by is Amazon's chart, they still don't have numbers. Weak article.

Just damn... You try to type here and people misconstrue your whole point. I never said it would sell as well as the Wii. PERIOD. I just said the Wii could do it, the PS3 can too possibly. Notice how I didn't put a time frame on it? Maybe you haven't noticed but the Wii has sold a lot more than 8 million so I'm not saying the Slim will sell 50 million just like that. No.
Um no one is saying the 360 will just stop selling, they are saying that the PS3 could catch up. The wii easily caught up and surpassed the 8 million that the 360 already had by 2006, only a fool would write something off like this. I can see being skeptical because this would be a huge challenge, but impossible it is not.
Funny how people are so sure about PS3 not catching up. Most people saying that it could aren't saying it will(aside from fanboys).
People have been waiting to purchase a PS3, they have not been waiting to purchase a 360 when it is already $200 and won't be dropping below $200 for awhile.
PS3 is already #2 in Japan and Europe.
I'll admit that from what we've seen GT5's damage isn't spectacular, but neither is Forza's. I remember crashing into a wall at 80 with Forza and getting some crumpled sheet metal, that's all. Took a few more crashes before I had any effect to my performance.
Also nice attempt at comparing a PS2 game to a 360 game. GT4 has just as good of physics as Forza 2 and you haven't even played Forza 3 but somehow know what the physics will be like.
You pay for size... This is the reason why cell phones, PDAs, portable MP3 players, laptops, etc are expensive.
Is a laptop too expensive when you could just buy a desktop with more power? I don't think so... If you're going to complain about the Go's price, complain about the iPod's price because if the Go isn't worth it than an iTouch definitely isn't worth it.

That's the bullest sheete I've ever read! Not only does the PS3 get claims that people only use it as a Blu Ray player, now the PS2 gets the same claims? What is wrong with the media?
PS3 is ahead in Europe already. According to Sony's official statement they have sold 10 million PS3s there. According to Microsoft's official statement they have sold 9 million there.
They shouldn't have to rebrand themselves. The Playstation 3 font was fine, calling it Playstation 3 was fine, nothing was wrong with it. Consumers suck!
