OMFG.
Microsoft is stealing this from an Indian college student from MIT who developed this very same technology and presented it at the TED conference.
Carnegie Mellon and MS, shame on you. Give the Indian kid his dues.
Wow, Cliffy laid it on a little thick, there. Uncharted 1 had better visuals than Gears 2, so the only time Epic had "leadership" was in 06.
Also, now that Crytek has made the CE3 a middleware solution, Epic will have a hard time catching up. Crysis 2 looks great, even on 360.
If I asked you to define what a "real gamer" is, I doubt you would be able to do it.
There are no distinctions between real gamers and casual gamers. People who play games PLAY GAMES. There's no more nitpicking to be done.
Capcom and Itagaki also show interest.
@majestiebeast.
That's right. Believe it or not, the developers and publishers actually try to make a living out of doing what they do. Can you believe that? Crazy, I know, but it seems they're not making games for charity anymore.
If Sony could handle its business in the $$$ department, then these major Japanese publishers wouldn't have made deals with Micro$oft.
Big, bad Microsoft, making PS3 fanbo...
I completely agree. Ever since they dropped the external processor from Natal, I stopped caring about it. Microsoft is using the same strategy for Natal that they used for the 360. They reduced the price of the 360 by making it less capable, and that's why the 360 became a better seller.
Now, they're reducing the price of Natal by removing essential hardware, and they might sell Natal very well, but I sure as hell can't defend it anymore.
MS's add-ons are not innovations. They're crappy 'nickel&dime' strategies and I hope they failed hard enough to let MS know they cannot do it that way next time.
As for HOME, it's not a failure. I don't use it but others do.
Nice. But I will stick to DS3 controller for RPGs and shooter games.
Hey, I've played Crackdown 1 and while it was tons of fun, I will agree with anyone who says that the game is graphically crap. CD2 doesn't look much better. But it will probably still be very fun.
.
6 months from now it still won't be released.
alright dude, don't blow a fuse. It's your opinion v. some stranger's opinion. Congratulations, your opinion wins every time.
A lot of Ps3 fanboys trying to downplay any accomplishment of the Xbox 360 by bashing it any chance they get. If you cant help yourself and have to leave a comment, just say "congrats" and be on your way. There's no need to constantly bash the 360.
All of this fanboyism breeds from insecurity in your purchases. Every time you open your mouths you're just confirming to the world that you're nervous about your console purchase.
Ninji, your argument doesn't hold much water. Who cares if few people would buy it? It means nothing. If it did, then you should ask why most of Sony's developers continue to develop for the PS3.
Epic is happy licensing its engine out to others. They make plenty of money from their games. I don't see why the board members from Epic would be interesting in selling their company to MS when they could make quite a fortune in just a few years from just licensing their products.
No reason at all. Or maybe I am misinformed and Epic is in some financial trouble. Maybe they fear that their reign as middle-ware proprietors is coming to an end with the rise of CryEngine3 or s...
They didn't cut the data, they downgraded it and compressed it so it would take up a smaller size.
The 360 US version and the PS3 US version are identical in content.
The PS3 US version has higher quality cutscenes as opposed to the downgraded Bink video that the 360 version has.
In terms of space, the biggest issue was the cutscenes. Creating a large open world environment doesn't require that much space, as evidenced in Fallout 3 and Oblivion both occ...
GT3 A-Spec was released in 2001, approximately a year into the Playstation 2's lifecycle.
GT5 is going to be released in Fall 2010, 4 years into the lifecycle of the PS3.
GT3 had a lot of room for sales growth because as the sales of PS2 increased astronomically, so did the sales of that game.
Do you expect for GT5 to follow even remotely the same sales pattern as GT3?
It's just not going to happen so soon. If GT5 ends up selling as many ...
True, but if we want to inject even more logic into the situation, you can also point out that GT's multi-million sales came during a time when the PS1 and PS2 had sold a larger amount of units worldwide than the PS3 has now. So, if GT3 or GT4 sold 10 million units a piece when the PS2 has been sold from 60 million to 100 million times world wide, what makes you think GT5 will sell as many as 15 million when the PS3 has sold about 40 million units world wide by the time of its release?
Yeah, this guy's really annoying.
Where's your closing sig, man?
"The PS3 is the Future, and the future is PS3"
LMAO. I'm glad that they're rehabilitating retards by teaching them how to use the net.
I have one of those faces.
This game looks amazing considering it's running a highly modified UE 2.5 engine.
