Both PS4 & Xbox One are in their infancy on the software side. We'll see incremental improvements over the course of this generation.

Yup for every lock there's a picker, but I was 'Simplifying' the obvious motivation of the headline to imply the HDD lock is some how a negative thing.
I guess I'm a little jarred of all the MEDIA SPIN for all things Xbox One. I don't own one by the way, I have PS4.
MS locking ext. HDD's to Xbox One is a security measure to prevent piracy.

Hi :) I can agree that a console is an investment yes, and a very longterm, expensive one at that.
..but I would suggest anyone unhappy with their investment to sell their console and go with one that makes you 'happier', be that PC, Wii U, PS4 or whatever. Rather than complain, or dump on Xbox One, mostly coming from non-X1 users.
Consoles are not an object you're stuck with, and I never mentioned 'forgetting&#...
Xbox One will be just fine. All the bad publicity will die down soon enough...and if it doesn't?
I'm sure it won't prevent X1 owners from enjoying the games/experiences.
Shame we all just can't move on now though.
The best thing is to probably not worry about game comparisons if you only own 1 console/platform.
I only have PS4 so I don't really care, I just like to read other peoples thoughts and opinions so I can LOL or bubble others up if they type something 'sensible'... but I don't necessarily care as a single platform player.

Agree with you. Besides, PS3/360 are still capable of amazing looking cutscenes. It's not like the older systems are suddenly gonna look awful just 'cos new consoles arrive.
The transition to new hardware always takes approx. 1 year to differentiate from old. That's how it's been every cross gen period.
