We're discussing a series where you went from starting a gang to becoming the president, to entering a matrix style simulation while fighting aliens and a series where the devil has a disney princess style musical segment.

I disagree. It was a solid show but sony usually does better.
Why would you want something so formulaic. I much prefer they just do as they please.
In general, this is true but arise doesn't feel that way. I'm only 15 hours in so I can't say for sure that won't change but so far the speed at which you level up feels faster than Symphonia. (My favorite tales game) Although this might be due to things like battles no longer having a victory screen and just being more fast-paced in general.
It can't really be better than completely optional.
This is where microtransactions are fantastic. Let them act as a fast pass for people who want the game to be easier and quicker without hindering those who'd rather play the game as intended.

Honestly a really great time. I'm not sure I believe Suda 51 when he says this is the last time we'll see Travis. Especially with how it ended. I'm all for Suda moving on to different projects tho.

No 2 marvel games is bordering on too many. I'm excited but I don't want insomniac to become the studio that only makes marvel things. I want them to be able to work on things they want to too.
