NPD does count Amazon sales. Amazon is actually a very small percentage of retail sales, something like 3%.
Xbox LIVE is probably the 360's strongest selling point, and really set the standard for online play and communication for consoles. PC still has the best online, but that's not in discussion here.
One of the main selling points for the 360 is Xbox LIVE and and the social aspect of it. I'm glad to see it is being successful.
I will get the 360 version because that's where my friends are at. I'm particularly interested in the co-op prologue.
I really hope this game gets the scores people are saying it will get, I'm really excited.
I think it's because Gran Turismo 5 has been delayed a handful of times. It has been said for awhile now that the game is done and they're just polishing it up. Alan Wake on the other hand, has been in development for a long time, but we never even got close to a release date until this year.
Both will be phenomenal games and I can't wait.
It's just a place holder date. A lot of companies/sites do this. Alan Wake comes out it May, and Microsoft will spread out their exclusives so that it covers more months.
I'm convinced this is a day one for me. I was actually not too hyped for this game until post E3 2009.
The game looks great.
I think that guy's mouth had more energy than his body. He also tended to say 'like' a lot haha.
They're talking about DLC, not retail.
How is that a flop? An 80 average is still really good, especially for a new IP. They ended up breaking even on it, most companies have a loss for their games.
Not every game has to be 90+ to be considered a success. That goes for any system.
This is a pretty misleading article. Microsoft already posted actual numbers of money gained via Xbox LIVE. Not to mention this chart is in billions, so even the bottom of the chart is still a substantial amount of money.
You have to realize that Microsoft is a massive company and the game/entertainment division is pretty small in comparison.
I just wish I had a time of when this starts on Thursday. I have to work that night and am curious to see if it is held before I work.
Why are people disagreeing with me? What I said is true.
Jack mentioned nothing about multiple exclusives. All he mentioned was that Sony and Epic were working together to assists developers in using the Unreal Engine and use the most of it. The only exclusive he announces is the timed exclusive of Unreal Tournament.
Did you even understand the clip?
Well isn't Microsoft's event next week? I doubt Ubisoft would have two exclusive games for Microsoft, but we'll see.
I'm excited. I don't want to read up too much about it because the story is the most intriguing part to me. I hope we get a release date next week.
"Formerly Xbox exclusive franchise"
What?
Who honestly didn't see this? It's DLC, no surprise here. Congrats to PC and PS3 users. A little too late if you ask me.
Traditionally a game like this would not move hardware this far into a console's life. At least not in the U.S.
Having said that, that's not what this article is saying. Moving units doesn't necessarily mean immediately. Perhaps some people who were debating on which console to get, waiting for a game to really impress them, etc. will make the decision to "Jump In". It could have been this week, over the summer, this Christmas, It's just going to sway some people to buy...
Both versions look great to me. I guess on a HDTV there might be a bit more obvious difference, but nothing drastic to the point it is game ruining.
I would say the 360 holds up pretty well.
