I'm pretty sure black ops will be the most played game across BOTH PLATFORMS for the rest of the year till thenew one drops. CoD cannot be beaten in numbers of gamers online. Not a chance.
As for sales....lets be real. No KZ, Halo, GTA, GT, MGS or any other PS#/360 game will ever ake those numbers. The only thing that can dethrone it is games that have already i.e. mario kart and wii fit, lol.
I think what they are saying is that none of those games give a bump close to the "halo bump"
there is no "killzone bump" to throw ps3 numbers up by large percentages in the month its released. Same for LBP, infamous, and even God of War 3 amazingly didn't bump it.
To clarify, they speak of the US/ westernized market it seems. In the non-english speaking world the PS3 is a massive hit. Japan, greece, germany, france.

I guess where you are top decides what types of games go to the console. So if 360 is tops in america and UK, more shooters and action games. On the other hand, PS3 being top in japan and the rest of europe means more JRPG's and i guess games that appeal to french and german gamers? And with the way that "westernized" games sell more on the 360, it just makes sense why developers in the west will focus on the 360 first and do a port to the PS3 after.

I think NOTHING compares to forge whch came in AFTER Halo 2 and still to this day is the definitive FPS level editor on consoles. Throw in the theater mode in halo 3 which is almost a standard feature in FPS games now and you have still yet to mention the INSANE amount of options the game allows so you can actually amke any game type with any scoring system using any crazy ideas you have and i would say its pretty obvious that a lot of games have a long way to go. We get a God of War every year where we do the same thing, so why not more Halo?

I agree. Its like sports. people come out and back their favorite team. And just like in sports, no true fan will ever admit that their team sucks. Its all in fun, I don't think anyone takes this whole console war thing THAT seriously as to hate ps3 or 360 fanboys.

When you consider that Sony has never had a console even CLOSE to its sales, it's kinda startling. When the 1st xbox came out it was slaughtered month in month out in ALL territories. Things aren't like that any more. Imagine you have a Halo game selling more than a GT game. Honestly, who would have EVER thought Halo Reach would perform better than GT5, not mention how Halo 3 did?

You have to understand. KZ is a niche game. The people that like it, are die hard fans that just love absolutely everything about the game. But to the masses, the game blows. Thats the reason it will never do even quarter of CoD numbers. The masses don't like the game and the way it plays. What does that mean? NOTHING. Its about time Japanese gamers show some love to western devs. They always think in their little box of japanese games and never venture out to see what the west has to offer.
Marketing alone can't explain it. Many products with big ad budgets have failed miserably. Remember the Kin? Remember the Saturn? Remember Daikatana? (John Romero is going to own you! lol) What about windows Vista? Or even the HUGE flop that was the zune which had ads running constantly.
Marketing alone doesn't sell a product. If that was the case we would all have a zune and be driving scions....which we are not.

To me the best is the NES. MILES ahead of the PS3, ps2, ps1, xbox, 360 , etc.

The PSP needs to find its pokemon. There is CoD, but I can't see the CoD crowd pulling out a handheld gaming system in public....may as well wear a t-shirt that says "PLEASE don't date me!"
uhhh. close to the latest PC video cards with DX11....i think you may be a bit too hopeful. KZ looks nice, but the low res textures hold it back. Not to mention the highest resolution the PS3 can output is 1920*1080.
Also, lets be realistic. If kz was multi the sales on the 360 would easily overshadow those of the ps3 version, just like the sales for every other shooter on the market including CoD, Battlefield, medal of honor
