Dont forget Halo introduced theatre mode and level editors to consoles. WAW introduced zombie mode which is slowly getting into more and more FPS games these days cause lets face it. its fun to co-op with 4 buddies and see how long you can last against endless waves of bad guys with limited ammunition and just your skill and intelligence.

They are all last gen old retro stuff compared to this. The new era in FPS games starts now.
MK was never good. Go back and play MK and SF2. MK is a stiff mess with choppy animation whereas SF2 is smooth and fun to this day.
Kratos is the last gasp for this franchise. Its like a washed up singer putting out a sex tape to get some buzz. I doubt it will work. Cause if it does, you know what's next....Every washed up game franchise is gonna try to put in some character just to build hype.

therein lies the problem with gt5. Why does the game only look good with 20% of the cars at only certain tracks. A game should be a uniform experience. i can't remember going anywhere in GOW3 and saying "wow, the dev's really half a$$ed it here" Whereas with GT%. any standard car at a standard track like laguna and you would think its a ps2 game. unacceptable.
yeah, the acr looks real, but the cardboard cut out people and those trees.......not so much
cars look good. backgrounds however....ugly. The mercedes looks amazing. But the guardrail made with about 1 polygon looks horrible.
Now only if all the cars in the game looked like that. i hate racing my premium cars against ps1 looking standard cars with mirrors that are a just a triangle.
This game has convinced me to upgrade my PC for the first time in 8 years!! It looks that freaking amazing.

Mario's story never changes but every mario game is enjoyable and fresh. mario 64 was very diff to sunshine was very diff to galaxy. and all were great games.
You can already cruise over to *insert your fav streaming site* to get free tv shows and movies using the ps3 browser. The downside of course is that it is mostly ie. 99.9% pirated stuff. And we know how taboo that has become lately in here. The other downside is that for hd streaming content the ps3 browser runs out of memory and crashes. Like when i stream high quality top gear videos from **********.com. Hopefully chrome is able to handle the functions better.

Killzone, CoD, Moh, Halo......they are all officially last gen FPS's.
This game will raise the bar and become the new blueprint to be copied and shamelessly ripped off for years to come.
I think battlefield has the best chance. Other current games like crysis, Killzone, bullet storm, etc have NO CHANCE.
The only other FPS that has ANY hype around it is BF3. The hype kinda reminds me of how it was when COD4 was first shown. You just know its gonna be big.
Think you forgot to mention that it looks better, has full destructible env, more players and has the ability to be modded to look EVEN BETTER AND can run at resolutions WELL ABOVE 1080P.
But I agree, it is far more expensive to be a PC gamer. I much rather spend 500 dollars every 5-6 years and play games that look less spectacular but still good than spend so much more on a PC. Gonna get a new PC for this though, looks epic. And with RAGE and a host of other games taking ad...

Look at the detail on the arm. You can actually see the pores in his hand, and they actually put a mole on the guys hand that looks totally natural. Even the bone things (tendons?) in the wrist when its in a certain position is visible. The detail on the gloves.
