I loved it. Got all the totems and clues and was surprised that most of the characters could die multiple times throughout the game. Really unique and fun design. I hope more developers take cues from the formula and build off of it.
As for it being the best game of the year though? Iono man, that is tough to say.

Growing up in the 80s, I can't imagine not owning a Nintendo product but, at the same time, I still have yet to pick up a WiiU. I plan on it soon though; probably this holiday season.
Xbox, on the other hand, is still the weird, money grubbing newcomer I don't like, or understand even. Yes, they have Halo... and I guess, Gears of War? But after getting RRoD'd THREE TIMES, I kind of gave up. I mean, there is STILL nothing for the Xbone I would purchase. Maybe Suns...
AAA this AAA that. Boring. All AAA seems to mean to people is that it is a multiplayer FPS like Call of Duty or Battlefield. There are tons and tons of PS4 games available. Who cares how much they're CHARGING? I am downloading free and/or really cheap games almost every week. You complainers need to change your definition of what a good game is considered.
It really isn't the best though. Halo 5 Gear 4. Blah blah blah. Just recycled IPs. Quantum Break looks cool, but they keep fucking with it. It's going to be a completely different game, by the time it launches. I am looking forward to the new Inafune game more than anything. ReCore, was that it?

Maybe not YOU, but some of us older gamers DEFINITELY play JRPGs. This might sound crazy, but that USED TO be all there was. American and European developers have only been making RPGs the last few generations. Even those mostly just implement RPG-like elements. I can't think of a single RPG for the PS1 that WASN'T Japanese.

Oh I guess Mario, Street Fighter, Zelda etc etc...hell MOST NES and SNES games must not have been worth it, huh? This logic is dumb. It's just a different type of game. Any multiplayer online ONLY game isn't worth it to me, personally. Listening to a bunch of kids screaming and swearing and tea bagging each other? So much fun.
