well it is better that he admitted that he fails hard at this kind of game. I do suspect that for many people the barrier of entry into fighting games is still incredibly high. He was kind of dumb for not playing through the campaign to familiarize himself with the controls, but he does have a point. But I never really encountered belligerent people on Live when I had it, and even the kids were alright. I have not had any issues with PSN and belligerent people either. Then again I don't game online that much.
Nothing stops a developer from killing the player character at the end of the game. This whole "Oh the player is immortal." thing does not hold water. Jaffe and this guy sound like the people who swear that a graphic novel can never equal straight prose in spite of the fact that so much information in human communication is actually silent and relies on the sense of sight!

Why do they think it is good to for left handed players to not be able to jump, swap a weapon or reload and move at the same time?
I mean its almost impossible to press the right side face buttons while moving with the right stick without straining.
Even ignoring my own specific problem with COD's controls I wholeheartedly agree that the controls are not perfect all the more reason for complete user customization.
I've had to deal with games where using southpaw made moving and reloading all but physically impossible to do. It doesn't make sense to have the controls not be mappable by the player, he or she knows how his or her body works period. Home isn't meant to sell PS3's. Did you turn off 720p in the PS3's settings? I have made ME run in 1080i (The max for my TV.) by doing this.
You won't see jaggies while you are in motion people. It's kind of ironic that the 360 appears darker in a game where it actually makes some sense for things to be very vright for once! I would love to know if they did anything about standard 3 and standard 4. Those mappings are absolutely worthless. If you want to put in an option to aim with the left stick the reload, jump, and swap weapon buttons should be on the Dpad darn it!
