True, so those that don't will probably have to call Sony. But considering you're talking to me right now on N4G, I'm guessing you're not one of those people without internet access.
The people who bought a Ps3 didn't do so for the possibility of a Wiimote. They bought it because of the franchises that it has, and its value as an entertainment system. What GodofSackboy was saying is that the people who own a Ps3, don't want it to be "relaunched" with some stupid marketing phrase that "You are the controller", nor do they want to come back from work swinging around with a stick that has button in order to "Relax". And yes, these people...
Lol, IGN hating on ME2 for Ps3? Yes they gave it .1 lower than the Xbox version, but the reason for this is that the industry moves forward quickly, and even a game such as Mass Effect 2 takes the blow of time. It still achieving the same scores now is an achievement in its own right.
@evrfighter
Actually, that is kind of the norm, or did you miss the million expansion packs that have released for World of Warcraft, (or any other big name MMO for that matter)? Those expansion packs are essentially DLC.
You won't even notice it being activated, it'll do so automatically. Unless you happen to have a pirated copy, then it's not very likely it'll activate.
Actually, it would probably be rather similar to the DRM feature. You have to be connected to be able to play the game for the first time. If your Ps3 doesn't recognise it as registered, no playtime. Though I'd imagine they have some feature in place for those without a connection.
They'll also blacklist pirated copies, so that they know when someone is trying to unlock a pirated copy.
Like Nitrowolf said, the idea is that you register the bluray disc to your playstation 3. If you get a pre-owned game I'd imagine it's not on its fifth time yet, or you'll need to make a call to Sony. Rental games will probably have an exclusive set of serial keys with different functionality.
The White Engine is the old name of the Crystal Engine... Regardless, I saw a website which had a direct quote from Nomura stating that the game was Ps3 exclusive, so this article was a bit pointless
.. Wasn't it kind of common knowledge that Versus XIII was going to be an Action RPG like Kingdom Hearts? The writer makes it sound like he believed the title was going to be turn based combat..
A lot of the code and assets can be recycled for the new game. If they have a lot of level designers in the team, a new game could be completed in no time.
Actually, the reason it doesn't take very long is because a lot of the assets can be recycled, and the game logic will be very similar, so the code for FFXIII can be recycled.
All they really have to do is create some new levels, and modify some of the existing code. That doesn't take nearly as long as building a new game from scratch, even with a completed game engine.
Thanks guys, guess I won't be watching this trailer for quite a while then.
Ok, Before I boot up this trailer.. Are there any spoilers in it for someone who hasn't completed Final Fantasy XIII?
Same here. I'm happy to finally have a firm release date, even though it's still a year off. At least we now know that the game is releasing in 2012.
Can't say I like the logo much, The Versus one and the XIII ones were better, more abstract..
Haven't even completed XIII yet though, should get to that this summer perhaps.
Actually, it doesn't seem all that unlikely that Ps4 will be announced this year. It's been 5 years since the Ps3's release, 10 since the Ps2's release, which would put it at the correct timing. It'll probably have Move support from the get go, like Ps3 did for EyeToy, and they'll be hoping to push it further with the new console.
Additionally... Why announce the PSP2 this month? They could do it at E3 and release it when the hype is still fresh, but ...
You'd be surprised.. Companies have been using Microsoft Windows for a long time.
A Private Key cannot be random. If it was, decryption would be impossible. (In other words, Signed Software wouldn't be recognised as signed)
Depends on the price. I don't use my PSP all that much, so it's really a question about how much I think the device is worth. If it does something incredibly useful, then perhaps at a reasonable price. Otherwise it'll more likely be the Playstation Phone that I'm getting.
Lol, I don't even have a smartphone. And it will most definitely never replace my PC! Being a PS3 only owner, I generally play Xbox 360 titles on PC, such as Mass Effect (which I will keep on playing on PC, unless save data can be transferred to ps3.. Still, I'll probably play the third on PC anyway) and Splinter Cell: Conviction..
