Tech comparisons over the space of 11 years is not worthwhile. We all know that there's a damn good chance of it being better. Especially a console game against more expensive PC tech.

Tech from 2006 versus tech capable of 4k that was probably around in specialised studios at something like 16-20x the cost of even the PS3 back then.

A masterpiece in so far as Metacritic, which a certain fraternity like to quote, have it at 93. A flawed masterpiece, but an amazing game nevertheless. IMO.
And you can't keep looking backwards in this game. Companies move on. Staff move on. Different CEOs have different values. The developers work with a different subset of the teams from previous projects. There's every chance in years to come that ND drop the ball (or any other team, such as Rockstar) but we all have a say...
Funny that..."everyone" left them before UC4 AND before UC:LL and they were doomed to disaster.

Each to their own. I like the balance of the last GTA. Would like to enter more buildings. And escaping through them. I liked the wheeling and dealing it offered on stock market. But I really don't want to be buying bread, milk and tiothpaste....

XBX is the greatest. No...PS4 is the greatest.
Gamers game but the forums are not dominated by gamers. They're dominated by people waving their extremities.
I want all the consoles to do well and stop any complacency. I won't necessarily buy them all but at the end of the day competition is brilliant for all of us. Not 15% more pixels or 3 FPS differences in cut scenes.

Don't think they will ALL be 4k/60. Even next gen. More power can be used to provide more detail and not every game needs to be 4k/60.
But unquestionably more than this gen..!

4k tv's will be cheaper in years to come (as they become 'standard') and as already mentioned, with consoles more capable of 4k. So a better time awaits...

WTF are you on? I say Forza is a great game but it's not a sim? Which I believe people have said (since Forza 3 or 4, it's been less sim orientated). I say that GTS has less content and some poor design, but appeals more to the sim seeking gamers.
And I say both could improve.
I play both, but find GTS far more technical and far harder to perfect (but not because of the game - because I'm not as good as I could be).

And that's fair enough. But the war of words has always been around Forza being the best driving simulator. I've got it now and it's not. It's a great game and I enjoy it. The content is great, I like the auctions and there's other neat touches throughout. But I do like to play something that is more realistic and GTS does that for me too. Lowish on initial content and with a few strange design decisions. But I also know that PD will support it for at lea...

Forza 7 - great game, good content but far from perfect (not a sim, lower detail car models and obviously contains the dreaded MTs). Poor sales show stale reception among XB market.
GTS - great sim that knocks Forza out with handling and car models. Lacks content but being added. Poor implementation of saving games (but tied to FIA affiliation to strike out cheating). Still needs resolving IMO...

PS players agree this sucks and have said so throughout. I'd be surprised if this doesn't change. But the game is fantastic sim.

Its an issue that non-physical and online only games could have on any platform going forward...
It may not affect the rate of sales for the console at this stage in the generation BUT I bet it affects the way people think for the next generation at this stage too...which is critical...
