@olMyerslo
So.. you decide to allow yourself to be off topic. Then when you've been corrected you come back to say we should get back on topic. It's a valid point and there is no reaching. Reaching is the defense you're trying to make to say their history isn't clearly showing the criticism to be true, whether you like it or not. And, trying to misuse a word to lessen it's impact and use it to support your bias like it can no longer be used for the contr...
The point that has been made time and again is that everything up to this point proves the controller remark as true. I've been promised many things by otherwise causes of toxic histories. Look at the history and what has been done. Not the promise.
Also, having one or two good games after consistent years of draught and disappointments still doesn't prove the contrary.
You say that like it's sarcasm but it's what's actually been happening for a over decade. Dozens of limited edition controller releases and exceptionally low game output along with disappointing game quality when the games do come.
Most of the time, these types of methods and techniques already exist on a console. So potentially it's already been explored and still isn't what they're looking for
@MontyeKristo
That's the thing. You need to look ahead. A monopolistic practice does not need to be done by the market leader. You don't bale out a poor performer in an industry who has literally no excuse for lack of talent or direction. We know why MS performs so poorly. We all do. You don't get to use your known poor performance to get a boost from the government. The consumers voted with their wallets and that is why XBox is last. Monopoly laws aim to protec...
@CBaoth
I'm not totally knowledgeable about that era of gaming.. But, this topic sounds like the next fairy tale to go around this site to spread FUD about Sony again. Did anyone else per chance read when people kept trying to claim Sony performed terrible monopolistic practices to keep MS out of Japan? This was stated numerous times and I did my research. Turns out Sony did absolutely... nothing to keep MS out of Japan. They simply saw that the market never budged in M...
"Posted this **same** story from IGN and was told it was a **duplicate**. Go figure. "
.. You just explained an actual reason why it wouldn't pass and still complain. You're literally creating your own problem and still blaming it on others.
It clearly must not have a logical reason like this and must be a fanboy pulling the strings in the background.
Exactly. I was saying before that it's completely an obviously lie when MS tried to say CoD wasn't as big of a deal as it is.. while they also knew how damn important CoD was to all the services they signed a contract for where they agreed to host CoD on their service with no profit split for the service. If it isn't so damn important then how can you convince a bunch of services to host your game without taking a dime of the profit? Because it's obviously a system selling gam...
@darth
You confuse "nice guy gloves" with a nice guy mask. He's always had core gamers as his last worry for the three consoles he's been in charge of games for. He has never done one thing that was done directly for hardcore gamers. Not a single thing. Not one big franchise release or passion project for the gaming crowd. Any time there was an actual push for what should have been an epic first party exclusive it's basically always ended up horribly. ...
". Phil said I'll raise you one and just buy the publisher."
Right... Now imagine if this was actually a good argumentative retort to every time there was every a third party exclusive. Microsoft would have ruined a hell of a lot more third party devs if they acquired them because of one or two third party exclusives... Sony has historically done a lot more unique third party games with in house partnership with Sony. MS has unfortunately just stuck to the sto...
Like Redemption said.. The issue is when people come out to try and "clear the air" with the average person like they are trying to get along with people and understand one another. But they are actually trying to make themselves look good and just make up information to act like they haven't done anything that could wrong anyone. MS said they did not remove any games that were being developed for PlayStation and they clearly ended up doing that. Nevermind the fact that any futu...
@Obscure
So, what are you actually saying then? Are you trying to say that if MS released Indiana Jones on the most profitable console that they would not have got anything in return?
Their publicly stated goal is to reach as many as possible. Their actual goal is to only allow it on their services unless a competitor forfeits any profits that MS would pay them. If their word was actually true then they would be flexible for the sake of more platforms to release on. How silly can you be to take MS' word directly for what they say when they constantly talk up a storm and have a history of lying and misleading.
@Stark
Uhh. No. You didn't read what I said. They compliment PlayStation for obvious reasons.. but they don't prioritize it the way they do when XBox performs better. They don't hover over any time that PlayStation performs better. It's their job to state it but that's it. When XBox does better they audibly sound more excited and their words are more exciting and draw attention to the times XBox is ahead. Like I said. They aren't liars, but they are ...
@Stark
They never talk "glowingly" about PlayStation. If PlayStation performs better then they admit that but don't really go deep into it. Every time XBox might have one better example they point it out heavily and never gloss over it. Remember PS3 and 360 era? They were so harsh on PS3 every single time. As soon as the power shift of PS4 to XBox One occurred they never pointed out the graphical differences as strongly when PS4 was clearly ahead every single ...
Like others said. It's not a big deal to anyone who is on top. The annoying part and reason for a lot of responses telling statements like yours otherwises is that they are impatient and lack ground. Talking about a grander future way before there are any tell tell signs of it getting better. Play more games and less PR and banter.
They'll obviously say "we've been listening to fan feedback and decided to release 60fps because we are good guys who listen". It's the typical move. Make an excuse and reason for releasing it without a crucial wanted thing and then when they finally get it ready to patch like they're already probably doing they will say they are doing it for fan feedback rather than own up to it not being ready yet.
@Darth
Wait.. 30 sounds ideal because it relates to various weight and gravity differences. How does this make any sense at all?
In no way in any game ever does 30 make more sense in a technical or realistic sense over 60. Reality is not 30fps. Physics don't make as much sense in 30fps. 30fps is a tradeoff either because of hardware limitation or developer limitation. It's not a design choice for the sake of design.
@olMyerslo
You've gotta stop trying to attempt that tactic.. Claiming others are reaching or now using mental gymnastics when it pertains to what you're doing. you're clearly reaching and doing your own mental gymnastics and think being the first to say those words to someone must make you free and clear of doing it. I know some people think pointing fingers first avoids their own criticism but let me explain it to you again. You did address the off-topic and r...
