Both systems have sold a butt load of hardware and software so far.
I think you could say neither console 'needed' these games, because they were never here and the systems have sold plenty.

Sony has really produced some great stuff this Gen. I don't care when it comes to who "wins" these "console wars" I think the 360, PS3 and Wii has been a great generation for everyone.
Wii gave the casual gaming market a huge boom.
360 and PS3 have both had some great exclusives.

Nintendo has always dominated the handheld market for a reason. They know what they're doing.
Even if 3DS doesn't appeal to your demographic. Its a garunteeed hit with kids all over the world, and will be the #1 xmas wishlist item when itse released.
They will be in high demand, and Nintendo stock will soar, just like it did with the Wii.
Call them gimicks all you want, but Ninty took a risk this gen by holding back in graphics ...
1. The big 3 have a large enough install base at this point that Devs will continue to pump out games for each system.
2. Like them or not, Move and Kinect will add to that install base.
3. Most "hardcore" gamers will own a 360, and a PS3, maybe a Wii. And don't care about fanboyism in any way.
4. Xbox Live has netted MS over $1 Billion. Love it or hate it, MS isn't going to let that steady flow of cash stop coming in....

Regardless though, I think RS will try something special. Even though GTA IV Reviewed highly, I hope they did some research and saw a lot of people got bored quickly after.

Master Cheif is the poster child for xbox. Its part of their brand. There will be a Halo 4, just like there will be an Uncharted 3 and 4.
They would be silly not to make it, and millions of poeple enjoy them so why not?

Although it won't teach you to play guitar or bass, its good finger excersise on the harder levels.
And from what I saw RB3 will have an optional full stringed guitar to teach you with, so again, they're making good improvements.
Rockband I thought made good improvements from 1 to 2. Actually got me into drumming, and using a real kit. I'm not very good on the real kit yet but WAY better than first timer.
RB3 is adding more to guitar, and adding keyboard, and teaching how to play real instruments.
If its to much money for you, then thats fine, buts Activision are not 'milking' this one. They've made geniunely good improvements IMO.

I'm usually not against Multiplat in any way. I own 3 consoles and love them all for different reasons.
But that being said.. I would love to see what they could do with it as PS3 exclusive. Not for graphics, just make it last SOOO much longer with a 50gb BRD!
Also Cliff, GT5 Prologue sold over 4 million copies. So technically, GT5 isn't out yet and its sold more copies than Reach which comes out next week.
FYI, I can't wait for Reach, I also can't wait to shoot down more fanboys in flames! :)
