Where do the "regular consumers' see this MS marketing? Evidently, its not people on gaming sites ordering, because most of the people on here are calling it crap already.

Earlier, everyone was saying MS is paying people off to avoid bad reviews of Kinect.
If you believe that, then holding back units would be counterproductive.
If MS really believes that they need to pay off the press, then they would also want to sell as many Kinect units on pre-order as possible. That way, they're sold and shipped before word of mouth can spread about wether its any good or not.
All this tells me is you're no better.
On-Topic: The only way this gives MS any kind of 'edge' is if it suddenly makes UV subscribers want to buy a 360. I don't see this being a big 'selling point'. Its great for current 360 users that have UV, but I doubt it will mean much in boosting the install base.

I never saw the point of cheats for games. thats like playing Monopoly and and just grabbing more money from the bank when you get low.

Rockstar planned on releasing DLC for GTA4. MS were just first in line to pay up and get it first.
DLC is here to stay. Personally, if I get my moneys worth, I'll be happy.

Move will be awesome compared to the Wii as it will deliver hardcore games too.
Fact is though, Move and Kinect are MS and Sony's attempt at the market share the Wii took from them. Smart ideas, since these companies are all competing in the same area.
