The Demo on the PS4 is kinda wonky and suffers from some weird stuttering and loading issues which causes sometimes to kinda feel like the frame rate is skipping or something. It's not a super smooth experience whatsoever. And while the gameplay is Contra fun, the graphics are ASS. Terrible low budget affair with some terrible low res textures and devoid of any indie charm.

Night Dive Studios would've taken the old graphics and give them a nice new light rig and a plethora of graphical options. They understand how to allow you to have the best Retro Experience with the modern QoL we've all come to expect. See games like Shadow Man Remastered, Quake, Quake 2, and Powerslave Exhumed for excellent examples of this.
You'd think other studios would learn from this but then you'd be wrong.

It's not really an Early Access but a Means to maintain a high standard of living for Roberts and Fam. There's a reason he has allowed feature creeps to be an actual feature in the development of these games. He knows he can do this.
