How much would the PS# cost and for how long would it stay at that price. We would all be playing on the PC. The universal console would either be gimped or too expensive. No company would absorb the development cost of this platform if everyone can manufacture it without some licensing fee. And how manufacture get? Would it push the edges of what is essentially a closed system once it is made? Can it be upgraded universally? Will all be made to same standard? A lot of questions. Companies on...
He said there were still some camera issues but that the game was fun. His review starts in part 2 of the podcast after what you are playing.
The MS board of directors won't allow investment in something that is given away for free. MS currently invests 220 million a year in improving xboxlive. The reason IE sucks is because it is a free application and MS directors won't invest in it unless they have to and then only so much. So as long as Live brings in money it will continue to improve. So free live = no improvements.
consoles lose money in the first couple of years.who would be willing to take that loss if they can not have exclusive games or money making opportunities. Why would Sony have spent a billion on the cell if they gave away the design. EA is nuts a common console would kill innovation. no competition no need to improve.
Makes you wonder how things are going in October. Traditionally September is a slow month for video games.
For land's sake they buy the Wii. If they buy that they don't care about the PS3 or 360. They care about easy fun games and low ( sub $200) prices. This console war is fantasy until both consoles are under $200.
Glad to see that Bioware is living up to the high expectations that this game has
Run I know Bungie is hiring.
If EA sucks so bad then the developers will leave. Simple as that contracts run out. That is the big gamble on buying a studio. You might get the name but you can't make people stay if they don't want to. That is the reason MS let BUNGIE go so think about that before eveyone goes nuts over this article.
meet our ideas of next gen. Will his game sell as well as either of those. These games may not have been next gen but they are what we gamers wanted.
and one year of profits would be very dumb business wise really dumb.
Has already reached the stage where they can add bundled games. That is good it saves parents from spending extra money on games during the holidays. And two Teen rated games. I know others might like some shooters, but this is designed for concerned parents to by for their children.
Everything else is fine. Story done.
Why? Because it has to be an exclusive game to the 360 to really compete with Halo 3. It cannot compete if it is a multiplatform game. To kill Halo it must be done on the 360. Now maybe one of these games might be a PS3 juggernaut, but Halo killer no.
Everyone hated on that Emaglive podcast, but that had a hint about this Bungie would be hiring like crazy. How many games are they going to be doing at once? Bungie has more than enough cash to kick butt now.
The wii is selling like it is gold and it took 11 months to hit 10 million at $250. There is no way a $399 PS3 is coming close to 16.5 million. you people don't understand the price is still too high for the casual gamer. And that is where they get all those units sold.
What stupidity!!!! That would mean that MS would have had 2005, 2006, 2007 pretty much all to themselves. That would make MS synonymous with next gen platforms. Remember how long it took the supernintendo to break the genesis hold? Nintendo is just now recovering. In the video games industry you have your product out there ASAP or we gamers will leave you behind. And developers follow us because they want our money.
Loved the explanation about why Live costs $50. It does make sense that no one wants to put money into something that doesn't bring in money. Why improve it if their is not a financial reason to do so. It also explains why Explorer sucks. Good info.
You should listen to their podcast too
People goto to WalMart for everything at low prices. If they see this there it will be one more thing that WalMart endorses. They get in on the Hi Definition bandwagon at a low price. And here is the kicker most will think there is no difference between Blu-Ray and HD-DVD . So all bull aside this is a serious kick to the groin for Sony.
