Unreal 4 is not mediocre by any measure. It's faster than many other engines, is physically plausible, and scales to a wide variety of platforms.
Fox engine is impressive as well, but can't hold a candle to the framerate of UE4.
Translation: we didn't want to show you Zelda U on NX just yet.
No, none of Nintendo's OS's are based on Unix/Linux.
Guess I'll be picking this up when it's selling for $29.99 next month.
@ Gribble
That you can't even spot your obvious logical fallacies is always amusing. We all get that you'll do anything to spin something in Sony's favor, why not stop embarrassing yourself even more than you have?
Also, why does someone your age even CARE about which console maker has more sales? You're old enough to be my grandfather - I feel truly sorry for you that this is how you spend your days. I would expect that from teenagers, not so...
"baring"?
Wow, someone's deflecting!!
In most of the civilized world, it's not an issue. Whether America falls into that category is another thing altogether.
I'm hoping this rumor about a new Undead Labs game is true (they've been hinting at it on their site). I've been excited about open world zombie games, but found DayZ, Infestation and Rust to be underwhelming. The most fun I've had with this genre has been playing State of Decay - which isn't online.
I'm optimistic that H1Z1 will be better than the other online games since it's coming from Sony, but so far it doesn't look much better than the c...
Not much of a weapon if you ask me. OnLive and Gaikai both failed to draw subscribers - PS Now will suffer the same fate.
@Audiggity
For sure, it is ambitious. But the DayZ engine is crap, even for an alpha release game. If in fact they are going with a different engine, it's probably for the best - let them focus on the vast environments and leave the mechanics to people who know how to do that better.
Good news. Perhaps now someone will do something with the game.
@Gribble
Try it out for yourself before you condone actual footage of the service. This is releasing this summer, not sure how much better you expect it to be.
800p? 30fps? Even the X1 could do better than that...
Does anyone actually care about the games anymore, or are they caught up in resolution comparisons... how the textures in version "X" look 0.02% blurrier...whose launch had faker applause...
The well-being of Sony, Nintendo or Microsoft has nothing to do with your genitals.
This from the guy who confuses pixel density with vertical resolution?
"You can't become a mod if you are a fanboy, it defeats the purpose of this site. "
That's where you're wrong I'm afraid. If that were the case, this site wouldn't have the reputation that it does. Attack me as much as you want, but there's a reason why people say things like that - it's the truth.
"N4G is just a typical gaming website on the internet. It isn't a Sony fansite, it isn't run by Sony fanboys, it's just a gaming news aggregate with loud gamers."
Unfortunately, that's just not true anymore. I've been reading this site for years as well and seen some of the worst Sony fanboys getting promoted to staff.
The result? They use their power to kill stories they don't like and promote the ones they do, and that in ...
I remember OnLive being 60fps, while Gaikai was 30
It's still just 32mb, which really isn't enough to buffer the average game at 1080p...unless you want to pass on decent textures, global illumination, dynamic shadows etc.
Microsoft was just plain dumb not putting more/faster memory in the new Xbox if native 1080p output was the target.
