I keep seeing this "thousands of zombies on screen" claim. Can somebody post a pic? Yeah, I've seen screens with a lot of zombies, but from everything I've seen, "thousands" is gross hyperbole.
"Zombies don't move? But they are there"
<snicker>
I'd say people tend to believe rumors that have something to substantiate them, be that believable/proven sources, history, or tangetial evidence.
Unfortunately, "rumors" about PS4 overheating have none of the above. (locking a PS4 in a badly ventilated box does not count as tangential evidence, nor does game crashes/freezes that are followed by perfectly smooth OS operation without reboot)
"if sony is holding back retail units from the press because of overheating , its a huge story and basically fraud"
Very true.
Also very, very, very, very, very unlikely.
"But given the fact that Forza runs at 1080p proves the fact that the system can do 1080p"
Fixed.
It can't do it "no problem." Sacrifices must be made to achieve that native resolution. If it were "no problem," you'd have Xbone CoD at 1080p native.
I guess that would make too much sense?
C'mon Sony... make a couple bucks selling a transfer cable, or pay a few bucks re-serving the same content. Seems like a no-brainer. (though I suppose there could be hacking opportunities there if not properly secured)
@Duff below: No.
I agree, there are definitely a few minor steps backwards.
I did sometimes play MP3s on my PS3 (never audio CDs though).
I do a crapload of streaming from my PC.
The only saving grace on those points (if they don't come eventually via fw update) is that I'll still have my PS3 hooked up to perform those functions (and I'll actually be able to split-screen PiP it with the PS4. Oh Snap!)
No custom wallpapers? WTF?
<...
I had intended to just fill the 500GB and upgrade at that point, since drives would be that much cheaper. But if I've got to redownload all the games via the net, I may just have to upgrade off the bat, which I'd rather not spend the money on at this time.
Swapping HDDs in a PS4 may be easy, but not so much that I would dismiss it as "simple as that." You would still need to go through the physical swap process, and probably have to update the firmware on the old drive.
This is a little beyond the "multiple DVDs for one game" thing that PS3 players could hold over the 360. Physically swapping HDDs to play an "old" game is a PITA.
And god forbid you'd want to use that old 500G...
Wow... people being pretty snarky for being so ignorant.
I've upgraded three PS3 hard drives mid-lifespan and never once redownloaded a game.
That being said, being forced to redownload instead of using a backup/restore method f'ing sucks. It took forever and a half to transfer 320GB of games via USB... redownloading 500GB of games via the internet? And that would even break the relatively generous Comcast download caps (250GB/month).
In other news: Geenberg admits water is wet. Story at 11!
You mean all on two boxes, right?
@XB1_PS4
NeoGAF is pretty darn strict with their moderation and banning of trolls... but I doubt you'd like what you found if you headed over there.
Ghosts doesn't "look good" on any console.
@trolling: ...sooo... cookies and usage info. That is the same as a biometric spycam/microphone. Yes, yes it is.
Seriously... how gullible can people be?
"Microsoft is promising that it is not technically possible for security agencies and state officials to access images of players."
So what... is Skype just a voice chat now? We know the Kinect can capture images of players. We know the Kinect/Xbone can transmit images of players. What technical limitation makes it "not technically possible" for govt agencies to access images of players? It ain'...
False equivalency FTW!
And it's not like people will be running out to buy new copies of Win7/8 just to play TF. PC TF sales aren't really putting any additional cash in MS's pockets.
Guess that's an admission that the majority of 12-year-olds and bigots are on XBL.
You mean back when everything was played on SDTVs?
And what technical limitation prevents the PS4 cam from doing the same thing?
$100+ well spent... I guess.
