Wow it's refreshing to see this calibre of writing and critical analysis on an actual website! Nice one.

I think I would find it hard to go back to point and click style adventures. I grew up playing Sierra adventures in the '80s and have very fond memories of them but know that that style would hold no interest for me now.

I've been spoilt by all the advancements modern gaming has brought about and feel I need more gameplay in my games nowadays...

Wow I'm surprised they didn't stop and ask you guys for advice.

Really nice list. I'm currently playing the Shadowrun follow up Dragonfall and loving it.

I like the idea of critics turning to create that which they've been critiquing. Obviously they're coming from an analytical view point from years of observing, and so that bank of knowledge would hopefully provide a good starting point on which to build. Looks solid too!

Yeah it's a fun idea. I think this would totally do my head in. I think you'd have to play this one straight and sober for any chance of victory.

I'm interested to see what CD Projekt Red come up with. Hopefully something a bit more fleshed out than just the usual dark rainy city streets filled with world weary cyberpunk characters.

Interesting article but I'm finding it a stretch to say that an entire genre such as cyberpunk is comparable to trends like using pirates or zombies. Cyberpunk has never gone away, it's just a good solid sub-genre of scifi to work within.

I can highly recommen...

Not sure that trailer does it too many favours but I agree with the bladerunner shadowrun comparison. Speaking of which I'm keen to hook into shadowrun: dragonfall after buying it today for iPad. Good times ahead with that one I think.

Nice lighting. Man I wish there were more hours in the day.

This reminds me of a game I got on a demo disk with my PS one, a top down ship battling game, it was so much fun. Shipwreckers maybe?

This looks like that but for the 21st century.

Yeah I think for gaming it won't be ideal. I think though maybe brain teaser style puzzles might take off. Like turn based word games, maths games, quizzes that sort of thing that don't take up screen space and are more knowledge based. I can see that stuff taking off

Wow that looks really different. So many of these wander around and explore games at the moment. Good to see the horizons expanding.

Some fun stuff there.

All jokes aside I think finding this sort of IP for Nintendo and DeNA to get into bed with would be good for their cred, as opposed to just doing Mario Soda Saga, or Zeldaville.

I'm thinking this whole getting into mobile scene to promote their IP will do wonders to fund Nintendo's next console, but hopefully it doesn't tarnish their name so badly by the time it arrives that the ideas cancel each other out.

Bit dark for my tastes. Nice review though

Excellent runner this one. Highly recommend it to anyone looking to add to their collection

Really enjoyed this series. Interesting stuff. Would be good to read about past Game Jam attendees who have gone on to having a career in the industry.

These projects always sound so good on paper but if one of the pieces don't pan out then the whole thing gets tarnished and falls flat on its face. I think a better plan would be to make one piece of the puzzle first, and if that turns out really good then add to it in different forms of media to expand the lore and scope. Trying to get all facets off the ground at once seems like a nice pipe dream had late at night chatting amongst friends.
