Wow that's nuts. I had no idea. I wonder if this is something that would sway anyone into buying one console over another? Maybe it is. The ps4 has been consistently outselling Xbox since the start and I guess as these sorts of things come to light it will only give buyers more info with which to make their decision.
Yeah I like the idea too, fun comparison too. The headline had me head-scratching at first until I read the article haha.
Really enjoying this. Loved the original but I'd have to say this is even better. More of everything and lots of new stuff. Everything a sequel should be. Can't think of anything bad to say about it.
Crossy Road is a good example of f2p done well but yeah I'd rather pay for it and have it.
Love the noir thing. I once read Raymond Chandler's biography, such a fascinating character. Amazing how stuff we think of as great writing the first time so quickly becomes cliche. But done well noir stuff has some of the most beautifully descriptive prose, with very immediate and perceptive punch to it.
I've never been one to jump on remakes. I'm a live in the now kind of guy and don't really see the point of replaying games I played years ago. There just isn't enough time in the world. I'm a massive fan of FFVII but I have zero interest in ever loading up that game again. I'd rather spend that time creating new future nostalgic moments while playing The Witcher 3
Currently wearing my scarf with pride. Fun game.
Yeah I'm quietly confident the talent in this team can do it again. They certainly aren't one hit wonders.
Be interesting to see how the Xbox backwards compatibility program and the PS Now streaming of older games stack up against each other for popularity. I can see pros and cons for both.
Yeah this is one crazy sideshow. Weird how some things are so painfully obvious from the outside looking in but the suits looking out of the fish bowl seem to be completely out of water and don't event know it.
Nice review. Really looking forward to having a crack next week courtesy of PS Plus
Fun iteration on a classic. Was playing it on the way home on the train this afternoon, makes for a great game to play while waiting for stuff.
Yeah totally agree, this article sums it up nicely. Especially VR and the near-infinite creation of planets in No Man's Sky. That is the big one to me. I think this universe creation where potentially only one single player will ever discover an entire planet will be the next big idea that will get constantly iterated on, much the same as all of a sudden every single game became a sandbox a handful of years ago.
No Man's Sky will be the first of that scale, but I'...
Totally agree with you Macka. The ships will be so much closer in feel to the slow, strategic nature of tanks, so should appeal to that crowd much more so than the planes.
Does it have submarines? That could be an amazing bunch of strategy just with subs and nothing else.
Exciting stuff. A must addition for a franchise positioning itself as a racing "sim"
Me and 3 mates got together over a series of Sundays throughout the year in 2014 and completed Diablo III in couch co-op, and honestly it was the most fun I've had gaming for years and years.
RIP to all in the one room gaming.
I'm torn between Armello and Grown Home. Zombie Vikings looks fun but there have been so many action platformers lately that the other two look a bit more different. Hmmm
Yeah I'm pretty happy to button mash myself. The last fighter I spent time learning with any skill was tekken 3. Long time ago. I find the good fighting games make even button mashing enjoyable through their playability and characterisation. So I don't tend to get out off by depth. I just mash on.
spot on, really well said, and needed to be said. Great article.
It's Apple's App Store they can do whatever the hell they like. With so many thousands upon thousands of apps flooding the store every week it's not feasible to hire enough staff to check every single app so they do the next best thing and set guidelines. If you break those guidelines then no app on the App Store. Guidelines can be changed and acted on retroactively and again it's apples store so they can do what they want. It's not like it's a government site, so the ...
Yep you can but to me that defeats the purpose of having a cheap box to leave permanently plugged into the tv as opposed to an iPad which due to the nature of what it is (a tablet) you are going to want to pick it up and grab it for other uses all of a sudden.
