Wow so many games I'd love to see get this sort treatment with a big behind the scenes look. Would be good to see it for some PS or XB games too, Tomb Raider reboot maybe or Ori and the Blind Forest, both triple A or indie wouldn't matter. Looks great
Nice review. This looks great, love twin stick shooters. Lots of buzz around this on release last year for PS4, might take the plunge
Anything Housemarque is a win. Just finished Dead Nation Apocalypse edition on PS4, so good
Okay I think with this much lead time there is a pretty good chance I can get to it next year. Really want to get along to one and soak it up.
Yeah have read a bit about this. Seems like of good combo of stuff mashed up. The characters in screenshots keep reminding me of a ratchet and clank aesthetic for some reason
Looking forward to taking the Nimbus for a spin with the soon to come GT Spirit. Just hope it's not too F2P.
I think in all fairness they put some pretty good Editor's Choice picks as features in the App Store banners week after week. Today Tin Man Games's new one Choices: And The Sun Went Out has a big spotlight, plus the feature they've started doing showcasing a bunch of paid games with no IAPs is a good move.
The Apple TV App Store is currently featuring handcrafted stop-motion game Lumina City which looks amazing, plus the yearly design awards they hand out usually...
Wonder if it will follow the Destiny model and add content and adjustments over time based on player feedback to eventually end up with what people had originally hoped for.
There are some really nice little touches in-game like the cartridges you collect, really cool.
It's interesting seeing the flow of games being ported from mobile to console nowadays, before it used to be a thing wishing for console games to be ported to mobile so you could play them wherever.
But some of these iOS games are really begging for the big screen treatment.
Man I poured some hours into Destruction Derby on the PSone, that game was pure fun.
Couldn't agree more. And on PS3?!
It's like some sort of passion or vanity project from someone with too much money who isn't sure how to spend it.
Weird.
Yeah a good read. Makes it hard to stomach all the various incidents of Internet rage over misunderstandings and the like, and seeing studios suffer because of it. All that hard work getting trashed often over such trivial things.
I think chances are the Apple TV will be a long play as far as gaming goes instead of an instant success. Much the same as it took a couple of years (more like 3 or 4) for mobile gaming to become more accepted, I think ATV will be in a similar position.
The early adopters won't be buying it for gaming, but will find that it games. Then some time after that, studios might start targeting it a bit more aggressively once a few casual F2P games have hit big. Then some time a...
Sounds pretty cool, anything that gets you even close to living the Han Solo dream is bound to be a winner right around now. Great timing.
Interesting, in the mobile space there hasn't yet been a need to worry about backwards compatibility, it's just been a choice of the developer to keep their games on the stores or not (which is a whole different story). I guess this applies to the digital arena across all platforms now.
So it really just becomes an issue with console legacy titles that were previously only available on a hard copy and have now been transferred/remastered/reboote d into the digital er...
Well the first two commenters kind of beat me to it. Was going to say that remakes, sequels and remasters don't stop new IPs, they just add to the opportunities for gamers to game.
If anything it broadens the horizons of current gen consoles, providing a gateway to the past and an entry point to the future all at the same time.
I say bring it on.
I think he's talking about people who are being left with the impression that games are going to be limited to 200MB period. I've seen a lot of headlines that if you read nothing but that and/or the first paragraph, that's what you would end up thinking.
Keen to see how this pans out. I'm buying one for media purposes, my 3rd gen Apple TV is way too long in the tooth and having the gaming aspect will be a bonus.
I think from memory 32 and 64gb models
Or maybe I just made that up
Just saw on a site 16gb
Using the travel posters as wallpapers on my phone :) they are very cool.
Hoping No Man's Sky lives up to the excitement. I think there will need to be some stuff to do other than walk around randomised planets as I think that novelty might wear off after a while.
