Never had a problem with them TBH.

Your opinion is wrong, but you are entitled to it.

I loved playing DOOM during my downtime at work. I have two hour stretches where I have to wait for load banking, so any game on Switch belongs there as far as I am concerned. The game works great at 30 fps.

Having said that, of course 60 fps will be the better experience overall. But to act like 30 is unplayable or shouldn't exist is hilariously off base. I have a Series X with gamepass, so if I ...

@Sieraguy

For AC Valhalla the XSX does drop to a lower bottom resolution, that it very rarely goes down to. Some of you are acting like that is just the resolution now, but it still averaged out to 1440p just like the PS5.

But what really makes it a tie is that when more taxing special moves are used (like when dirt gets kicked on the screen), the PS5 will drop frames while the XSX maintains 60 fps. And since DF debunked the patch making the PS5 version...

You can buy control Ultimate Edition, but you only get the X1 version and the DLC till the upgrade is released early next year.

And of course only the base game is on gamepass, there was just a gamepass exclusive sale for 50% off to get Control Ultimate. Why would they put it on gamepass right after that?

We have not seen any current gen games yet. Only cross gen ports that were optimized for for last gen, and rushed onto the new consoles for launch. They show what niether console is capable of.

@Father_Merrin

DVCV better on XSX in 3 out of 4 modes, and the 4th mode was patched and improved.

Valhalla near identical post patch, with the XSX having a slightly more stable 60 fps but a lower bottom res in rare occasions.

CoD Cold War holds a solid 60 fps with ray tracing while PS5 dips into the 40s in spots.

Borderlands 3 has a clear advantage at 120 fps mode.

Watch Dogs Legion is identical. ...

The win goes to XSX for a higher and more stable 120 fps, with the difference sometimes being as high as 15 fps.

The shadow and foliage has nothing to do with console power, as it was stated to be left over legacy code from the base versions (where the same differnce was present on the One X and the Pro). And if you have to cling to a whole 3 second faster load time, you are reaching. And for the record you will save a lot more time with quick resume on the XSX than you w...

Probably the base game, as the Ultimate Edition was just on sale for 50% off for gamepass Ultimate members. It would be very odd to add it to gamepass right after that.

DF just released a breakdown of the new patch. They say the PS5 version has not changed at all, the XSX just got better. It is pretty much a straight tie now with XSX having less tearing and a more stable 60 fps, but a lower bottom resolution as a trade off.

Man your comment has not aged well at all.

It just goes to show how unpolished these cross gen ports really are, rushing for the holiday in a pandemic and all. Valhalla has its share of bugs, so it is no surprise that this happened. MS had nothing to do with it.

In any case, these comparisons will hold more weight as devs have the devkits longer. Better quality control for patches should be in place as well.

@Chevalier

The achievement is how long they remain out of stock from constant sell out. The X1 and PS4 both replenished stock reletively fast, where the XSX and PS5 will see shortages into spring.

What puts the XSX ahead of the one is not the fact that it released in more countries, but the fact that it can only sell what is in stock. Given that the shortages are lasting longer and selling more overall, it is clear that if the supply could meet demand t...

As someone playing on the Series X, screen tearing is completely gone in visual mode with a solid 30 fps locked at 4K. This mode feels incredibly polished on the X.

Performance mode has seen a massive improvement in frame rate and screen tearing is not anywhere near as bad as it was before. You can still get it to tear under stress, but more in line with what the PS5 was doing. This mode still needs work, but it is an improvement.

I cannot speak for is...

The Series X is selling as much stock as it has, and many pre orders have been pushed into 2021. Both the One and the PS4 could actually be found on store shelves in the US by January the following year. You are right, it is not a direct comparison. When supply is not meeting demand and still out doing what the other consoles did, it shows that BOTH new consoles are destroying their previous gen counterparts.

No it is Switch exclusive in the west. Only Japan gets it on PS4.

The S can't do what the X can. It is delivering 1440p 30fps vs a locked 4k 30fps at a higher graphical setting.

Performance mode offers dynamic resolution with a custom graphics setting for both too. They are not going for parity, they are treating it like PC. This has been expected since both Sony and MS went with more traditional PC style console builds.

Also I will say this, with just one patch any advantage that the PS5 had over the XSX seems t...

Interesting that the Series S has been in visual mode and the Series X and PS5 have been in performance mode by default. Great that both versions will be available om all consoles. Furthermore it looks like screen tearing will be addressed on the Series X too.

It will be interesting to see another comparison, as I expect there to be pretty much no difference between the X and the PS5. Just goes to show how rushed the game really was TBH.

DMCV has the advantage on the XSX for 3 out of 4 settings. So no, not 100% of the time. I would exercise caution over braging about minor differences this early in the generation. These are last gen ports and devs have had the PS5 devkits much longer than the XSX. As time goes on, you could be eating mahor crow if your not careful.
