So many people are excited becasue its more Reisdent Evil, but I think your right that this game is over-hyped because it will be just that, more. I hope I'm wrong, I love the whole Resident Evil series, I just don't see anything in RE5 other than online co-op that really excites me, i miss the old feel. Meanwhile Dead Space looks awesome, not nearly hyped enough.
The ability to play Blu-Rays will propell PS3 sales as it helps future proof the system which negates the price issue and increases the user base. I still use my PS2 as DVD player! However the trend for Third Party games being multiplat might become interesting as the PS3 gets moving...
I forgot about portal (I know.. flame me), that gaae was hillarious! I'd love to see more full length gaaes maintain that kind of humor! But I wonder if portal would be as popular if it was a full game? Maybe people only want game with a serious tone for their full feature experiences?

I for one, sincerely miss Roger Wilco. There are games out there this generation, Zack an Wiki for one Sam and Max for another, but they just don't deliver the same kind of humor. I must say the free DL is a really nice bonus for preordering a good looking game thats already a good price. I would have just ignored Nuts and Bolts as good but not special before but now its at the top of my bargin list.
Dont BS me, Haze wasnt hyped, just hyper-marketed and it scored better then Too Human, and yes Lair was Hyped, but not nearly as much as Too Human was. If you want to argue that Too Human wasn't treated fairly (or not) thats one thing but can we jsut leave the tit for tat BS out of it?
But Mirrors Edge and Dead Space don't jsut look good, they look amazing! I think Dead Space might revitalize the survival horror gnere and put a sharp focus on RE5. Also the depth of the stories in these games is great... I love reading the comics. Plus who can not be pumped for Spore? The ps1 competed with the sega saturn, and the dreamcast competed with the ps2 and had so many "technical problems" that it made the ps2 look like the worlds most reliable hardware, meanwhile how can you even criticize "technical problems" when your a self proclaim 360 fanboy. The man is the creative force behind Wii Music. That said Nintendo can most certainly rest on its laurels, just look at sales, with no new games coming out soon or in the near future the console sells like crack and considering that unlike MS and SONY they actually make profit when they sell a console, they are sitting pretty.
Did anyone here actually play Haze (demo doesn't count) because I did, and it was fun... it wasn't great but it certainly wasn't an unpleasant experience. I think both games are similar that they lack mass appeal but offer something for a specific audience, the big difference is that FPS fans (Haze's audience) have so many AAA FPS's to play, while the Loot-crazed third person, tredmill RPG fans havent had much to play other than Diablo 2. I feel like they could have achieved gameplay more faithful to the source material and still received a Teen rating. Both Lightsabers and Blasters instantly cauderize the wound so no need for blood, but it seems silly for random ST to be able to take repeated strikes from a lightsaber. I know its knit-picking but it bugs me I feel like Lightsaber gameplay was neglected in favor of Force Powers which basically make lightsaber combat useless, which jsut doesnt seem right... but like I siad I'...
