Headline seems a tad misleading, as this is in the performance modes.
I think you fundamentally misunderstood that statement.
I dunno fam, do you ever get upset at a company claiming that having to support your community is why their product was bad?
Sony didn't make a big ol' show of saying exclusives were anti-consumer and trying to play kumbaya around the campfire tho. MS also tried to make a big deal about how this purchase wouldn't be about "taking games away from anyone" and now it's sounding like that is indeed their plan.
It's more about the open hypocrisy surrounding this than anything. Some of the same people cheerleading this were bashing Sony for having even first-party games ex...
So you're saying it's not gonna get any better than this?
ok
"Easy"
*Proceeds to demonstrate he has no idea how game design works*
Bro you always have to start with the least common denominator when it comes to game design. You can't design a game to run on X and then just "dumb it down". You're talking graphics scaling.
Incorrect, it's a weapon that is opening rifts and summoning "weapons" from other dimensions.
That all happen to be IP owned by PlayStation. lol
The highlighted path is simply the easiest path. Not the only, or even necessarily the fastest or best route for the situation.
Somehow I knew you'd have a take like this.
They were mad about that too, btw. Made that quite clear in their rather nasty message.
Imagine being so maladjusted that you think you need to lash out over a game being delayed and cross-gen.
Some people are absolutely pathetic.
"Aren't as good" based on... what? What exactly would definitively make these games better on PS5? Name them. And not just "what ifs", name actual, tangible ways that the game would definitively be better. Then consider that the game was literally in development before PS5 devkits came out, and making it PS5-only would mean they either had to scrap all their work, start from scratch, and delay the game, or that the game would still have aspects designed around the PS4 ...
Returnal needed the instant looping. Having to sit through loading screens after every death would have hurt that game BAD and broken the immersion of being trapped in the loop.
Horizon and GoW started development as PS4 titles, and GoW being on PS4 was recently revealed by Cory Barlog to have been HIS call.
We literally saw and heard nothing official about GoW until they announced the delay and that it was a PS4 title. They never once said "PS5 Only". And the decision to make a PS4 version of GT7 as well was made pretty recently, and likely due to the fact that a racing game wouldn't be too affected by it.
When Jim Ryan made those comments about believing in Generations, he also said outright he felt they had a responsibility to keep supporting the PS4 for a while as well.
And shucks, we do indeed have a PS5 with exclusive games and next-gen experiences, and we do indeed also have PS4 support.
Miles was NEVER made to look like a PS5 exclusive, and they announced it was on PS4 as well before PS5 pre-orders even went live.
Y'all really need to stop trying to rewrite history to fit your narrative.
What exactly do you think that "revision" is going to entail? What do you mean scalpers are "to blame" for business decisions?
You think retailers get cuts from Scalper sales?
You can get a PS5 without dropping $1k on it. WTF is this nonsense?
@Lucas Because they WANTED to make a PS4 game. They envisioned it on PS4. It's that simple.
"“Nurturing creative talent is not as simple as throwing money at it,” he explained. “You also must give them the freedom to be creative, to take risks, and to come up with new ideas.” Ryan pointed to Sucker Punch’s open world smash hit Ghost of Tsushima, which represented a dramatic change of direction for the Seattle studio. “We want [first-party developers] to use our hardware as their creative palette.”"
