Game rights and film rights, just like their respective divisions, are very different things.
@Hungryalpaca
I think he's saying that they'll get to know the system better and be attracted to what's exclusive, not that they'll "know it's a better platform".
You'd be surprised the number of PC dudes who actually liked the system and its exclusives once they gave it a try.
So God of War is a Multiplayer title optimized for PC play?
Side note: you have a very unfortunate taste in computers.
So they're gonna be operating something similar to SOE then.
@opc Return of the Jedi was always a good movie, are you high?
@Inzo Disney didn't do that. Lucasfilm did it of their own free will. lol
George Lucas was the one who made Kathleen Kennedy his successor, after all.
Dead link.
Buying the studios wasn't the issue. It was the nature of the acquisitions, how some of them made almost no sense and seemed more designed around keeping said studios away from anyone else as opposed to having a history with said developers, etc.
Context is important.
That and Sony beefed up their existing studios first, then went shopping.
Ted's staying on, as is the rest of the management. They said as much in their press release.

Sony just owned the R&C and Resistance IPs, yeah.
@Gumby
That's solely for the first game.
...It's BEEN #1 since it debuted.
The sole exception is the PS3 and that was because of the Wii fad.
People said that about an Iron Man VR game too, then immediately complained as soon as we got one announced.
That's only the future because y'all want it to be. The games industry never ceases to try to find ways to strip people of actual ownership of their games, that's simply the final step.
And before someone tries to be smart and chime in with that "READ THE TOS AGREEMENT YOU DON'T OWN EVEN YOUR PHYSICAL GAMES": BS. You don't own the content ON the disc, but you still own the disc. You can still sell it, trade it, lend it, rent it, whatevs. That ...
This isn't an Xbox article, this is a comment from one of the major companies involved in gaming about the current state of cloud gaming and the direction of the industry.
People can comment on what they want either way though.
@Reefskye Home computers were a thing when consoles first came about, broski. ZX Spectrum, Commodore 64, the Amiga, the Amstrad, MSX...
Consoles weren't really ever the "only" way to play games.
Also, CDs and physical music sales are still very much a thing. lol
The DualShock 4 has been widely considered to be one of the best gamepads out there but yeah, sure. Terrible controllers.
Maybe you just suck, my dude.
Eh, kinda feels like we dodged a bit of a bullet there. The villains shown so far are a bit underwhelming, Grodd isn't really a Batman villain, and... Damian? Really?
Eesh.
That's a real cute way of trying to cover MS moving toward being a wholesale third party publisher.
"Excellent"
sure.
This is also unrelated to the games so... -shrug-
