I'm not so sure about the CDC there but...

...are you seriously trying to say the style of GLOVES is something needed to be "true to the spirit of the character"?
Damn, Sony got enough pull to get FB to pull out too just to cover for them.
Now that's powerful.

Gosh, who saw that coming?
Why does it feel like they're trying to sell this purely on how "Progressive" they're being?
The article itself has them being constantly self-congratulatory on how "risky" this was and tooting their own horn over bravery. Lord...
Again, it's not just FROM Asia. There are people infected and even carrying it that have been identified all over the world, and people all over the world come to PAX.
PAX also happens to be a perfect breeding ground for viruses like that.
The reason a lot of companies now prefer doing these demos in controlled environments is that they can have someone on-hand to explain things, discuss bugs and how they're working on them, and take live feedback.
The virus is already in the U.S. and other countries outside Asia, dude.
What does that have to do with not having PAX booths?
I mean... I dunno why people expected different. The Shenmue games have always been very niche.
It doesn't help that they deliberately went back to 20-year-old design conventions for the sake of "gameplay continuity" either, or that this barely moved the story along.
You're aware that the remasters dropped before this, yes?
So that's not the "only" console family to have the previous releases.
Eh, not so with Atlus. They've done surveys like this for a good long time now, hence why everyone thought that P5 announcement WAS the Switch port.
So unless they've been working on a simple port for years now, it's not a guarantee.
There are actually a couple of reasons to do that.
1. It gets their games talked about and trending online, which is good publicity.
2. If there IS some sort of exclusivity deal with PS, should a discussion of renewal come up, it gives them more leverage to ask for more out of the deal.
I find it funny that they're citing Spider-Man's web mechanics as an opportunity for "great QTE segments" given so many people tried to pitch a fit and insist Marvel's Spider-Man was a "QTE fest" due to some QTE segments.
It's not bout the gameplay being "solid", It was always going to be. It's Warcraft III.
It's about the company's actions, broken promises, lies, TERRIBLE Terms of Service, and cutting/restricting content in the old game to push people to buy this new one.
oh my god

It's not. It's adaptations in general as they tend NOT to respect their source material.
Funny, because that's got nothing to do with his comment.
He didn't say follow, he said "shows respect" for the source material.
In other words, doesn't act like it's adapting an inferior medium that they need to "elevate" or improve, but keep the spirit of that.
This particular reviewer just seems a tad harsh tbh. The highest score I've seen him give anything in 4 pages of reviews is an 85. Even Gears 5 only managed a 75, and games he says he likes only in the 80s.
He's just got a steeper scale, it seems.
