It wins in the SSD, the IO Throughput, the RAM being a unified speed that's a good bit faster than the slower RAM in the Series X (which almost definitely WILL be the base speed the RAM moves at given systems always clock the faster RAM down to run with the slower RAM to avoid any issues).
And no, "Brute Force" does not mitigate a drive that can load RAW data at twice the speed as another drive loading compressed data.
Penello's also being disingenuous with how the system works but I mean...
I love how everyone bagged on Sony for not "innovating" with the PS4, then bag on them for innovating with the PS5.
That "audio crap" has the potential to fundamentally transform the level of immersion we have in gaming,
@darth That would be software, correct? This was more about hardware features.
It's quite possible that might be in the pipeline, but that also wasn't the topic of this talk.
Every single regard?
lol learn how to read a spec sheet
Not so. It's designed by Cerny, including the custom parts. HE's the one who decides which parts to use, what they want them to do, etc. AMD makes those parts, yes, but to HIS Specifications.
It looks like it should come with Alexa.
Jamar, money comes from hardware. lol
The more people who buy your hardware, the more you stand to make. Game sales, profits from third-party sales, online subs, etc. In fact, that's where most of the money comes from for console companies and what FUNDS games like Horizon. It's why they can afford to gamble and experiment with games like Concrete Genie and Dreams. That thirty million copies of GTA5 they sold? 30% of that is theirs.
If they were ...
Or, you know, we can stop pretending a good, coherent story isn't important.
...there is one.
Naughty Dog wants perfectionists willing to get the job done. Key word: WILLING. Hence why they bring it up in interviews. But on top of that, if you're not? Too tired, prior obligations? You can leave with zero issues.
At some point, PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY comes into play here. At some point, they need to be willing to say "yeah, I overworked myself and I need to take better care of myself" instead of trying to externalize what happened and blame someone els...
The thing is, this is actually brought up during the interview process and, by Schrier's own admission, nobody at ND even ASKS people to crunch. They can leave after their normal workday whenever they choose. If they decide to stay, they're fed by the company, and encouraged to take a break whenever they feel they need it.
Honestly, this hardly sounds like a company that "doesn't care about the human cost" as he suggests.
They do, actually. From the article:
"Crunch culture at Naughty Dog isn’t a secret. The studio is open about this mentality in interviews with new hires, and its managers deliberately seek out perfectionists in art, design, engineering, and all of the other disciplines that make games happen. The type of people Naughty Dog wants to hire are the type of people who will willingly stay late at the office in order to make their games better—the type of people who would tak...
I don't see anything "forcing" them to do anything. More likely, sure, but they're not gonna be "forced".
On top of that, bear in mind they're gonna LOSE 30% off each sale, something they didn't have to worry about before. Also keep in mind, removing the incentive to buy their console would probably result in fewer sales overall, which also means fewer PS Plus subs and fewer third party game sales for them to get a cut of.
Someone's REALLY trying to live up to their username.
Question A: 2
Question B: 2, with a bit of 4.
I misread that as what Dead Space could look like as an Insomniac game and now I kinda wanna see their take on it. lol
I agree.
It's not. The OS of a computer is not relevant to the story at all. The manufacturer of said OS sees ZERO benefit from it being present on that platform or not.
You have a VERY weird fanboy streak when it comes to MS, my guy.
How is that a messaging problem when they were very clear on that qualification in their presentation?
That'd be a problem had they not mentioned it, yes, but they did.
