Sonic's narrative is Robotnik/Eggman is trying to take over Mobius and using woodland creatures to be the cores of his evil robot army, and Sonic seeks to rescue them and stop...

They also have THREE development teams working in three year cycles. A new CoD every year kinda doesn't mean anything in that regard.
...Big Red One is legit my favorite entry in the entire CoD franchise. First time an FPS game actually made me FEEL something. When one of my squadmates died, it actually had an emotional impact.

Do y'all forget that the entire reason "power" was a factor was that the PS4 was NOTABLY more powerful than the Xbone while being $100 cheaper? It then stayed an issue because "The Power of the CLOUD!" and "Wait for DX12" as both were guaranteed by fanboys to make the Xbone more powerful and thus justify paying more for a weaker system at launch.
