I'm gonna miss them, and the Prime series. What a great job they did. At least they left on a good note.
Just because Metroid Prime 3 is in a series doesn't mean it's the same. Being a huge Prime fan, I have to say I was surprised at the angle Retro decided to take Prime 3 in. It deviates from the 'Metroid Formula' of being so isolated and instead plays a bit more on story and character...anyways it's actually quite different from the first two, so I'd say that point against it is untrue.

By the way, I have a Wii if you want to shoot it, then I could throw you in jail. Then I'd get a new Wii and continue playing the great new games on it. I'm not buying any casual games for the system (I wouldn't have gotten Wii Sports if it wasn't bundled), but don't take away my Metroid and Zelda, not to men...
Metroid Prime 3! I've been excited about this game since it was announced. I still can't believe it's just 3 days...
Actually, the difference is that you had to get a certain number of stars in order to finish the game. Achievements are for the most part optional. Still, I'm glad they put this in because as much as I love Prime games, the replay value wasn't all it should be. By the third time or so the Pirates annoyed the heck outta me.
It's not that bad, but at this point I don't care. Just give me the game!
That looked like the levels that frustrated me in Sunshine. Still, that's what makes a Mario game. If I beat every level on the first try it wouldn't be a good game at all. The game as a whole looks great though. I love the planets idea. I just keep remembering those 'secret levels' in Sunshine that made me turn off the game and try again the next day. I still liked that game, though, so I'm going to give this a shot.
This is what I like to see. Now we know that there's a use for all of those achievements, as well as application of WiiConnect24. This game is looking to be the Wii's killer app. The screens look nice too. Rundus looks strange in his PED suit, though.
I expect to be saving some major Federation Trooper butt on the 28th :D

Of course graphics matter. I own a Wii and I will happily admit that. Without amazing graphics, I would never have been drawn into the Metroid Prime series. As a Wii owner, I'm often on the target end of bashing because of graphics. That was my choice. Sometimes I get defensive and spew out some BS that graphics don't matter. That's not true. As for achievements in the first hour of MP3, there were actually different colored screwattack symbols awarded for things like saving Federation troopers and defeating bosses. If they were only awarded for getting to the next objective, then everyone would get the same amount :P

Since when does being 'next gen' make a great game? I agree (although I personally like Metroid better) that BioShock will most likely be on top, but please keep in mind that none of ANY system's so called 'next gen' games could beat Ocarina ...
If NP was biased they would've given it an 11, because from what I've seen this game is at least a 9.5 without question, and I haven't even played it. Singleplayer FTW.
Yeah, when I first woke up to the flashing blue light and a note from the Big N about a Metroid preview, I was excited because I thought it would be a playable demo. Then I remembered that the Wii's 512 mb... ><;

I agree sidar. Metroid worlds are more important to the game as a whole than the worlds in Halo. In Halo (from what I've played) the world was just there to give you something to walk on. Metroid really keeps the planets and their inhabitants in center stage. I like that about the series, especially the scanning part. I'm sure 'hardcore' people wouldn't go around scanning dead bodies but for me it's just amazing.
I'm happy to see so much intelligent discussion of this title. It seems like that hasn't been happening much on other MP3 stories. I agree with most of the reasoning here.

Technically, this article is Metroid vs Bioshock. One might (and many above have) take it as far as Wii vs 360. It is stupid, however, to inject any 360 vs PS3 into your comments. We get enough of that anyway, and it's not influencing anyone.
